The grand final of VCL 2023 Vietnam Split 2 concluded today on 4th June with Fancy United walking away as the champion following a close 3-2 victory against LAZY.

Fancy United has proven that it is the best Valorant team in Vietnam following its outright domination. It had already won the VCL 2023 Vietnam Split 1 in March earlier this year on the back of an undefeated 10-match streak and now the throne has been successfully defended once again.

On the other hand, LAZY has shown quite an improvement, from finishing fourth in the previous tournament to making it all the way to the grand final.

As a result of this accomplishment, Fancy United will go on to represent Vietnam in the upcoming VCT 2023 Ascension Pacific which is scheduled to take place from 28th June to 9th July.

It was all about domination and success for Fancy United right from the very beginning of the regional circuit. The team had assembled a fantastic lineup that shone brightly during the VCL 2023 Vietnam Split 1, handing defeats to all other competitors during the regular season to qualify with a 7-0 scoreline.

Even in the playoffs, there was no team that could upset Fancy United who won all three matches in succession and lost just one map against Team Big BAAM in the grand final, walking away as proud champions of Vietnam.

They carried forward this momentum with them in the VCL 2023 Vietnam Split 2, but fell short by one match to attain its second 7-0 finish in the regular season, an achievement that was sealed by Tìm Tài Trợ.

However, the team did not lose its focus and reached the grand final once again to defend its title. Despite playing against LAZY, a team that not many expected to reach this stage, Fancy United faced stiff competition before nudging past them and guaranteeing themselves a 3-2 victory.

Fancy United Esports will now be seen representing Vietnam at the VCT 2023 Ascension Pacific, which is the final step to qualify for the VCT 2024/2025 Pacific League. It will be their toughest challenge yet with top teams from every region delivering their absolute best to grab the one available spot and make it into the international circuit.
