Riot Games has been delivering on its promise of keeping the League of Legends community informed about all the decisions it is taking for the game's future. Since the start of the year, developers Jeremy “Brightmoon” Lee and Andrei “Meddler” van Roonon have been regularly presenting the Dev Update.
In the Dev Update that was released on 12th October, the developers talked about updates to the League of Legends lore, the addition of new champions and Quick Play mode, and the return of the Blue Essence Emporium.
The Essence Emporium in League of Legends is an in-game sale that previously occurred twice a year. It was introduced at the start of pre-season eight by Riot Games and the last time players were treated to the Blue Essence Emporium was in LoL Patch 13.17, after a whole year.
However, players voiced their opinion about how the in-game store was not up to the mark and how they expected more from Riot Games, given that Blue Essence Emporium was taken down for maintenance and upgrading.
Here's all we know about the return of Essence Emporium in League of Legends in Season 2023 end.
When Will the Blue Essence Emporium Return in League of Legends (2023)?
Amidst announcements and developments about new and upcoming champions, lore changes, and the latest quickplay mode, the Blue Essence Emporium's return for the second time in 2023 has created so much hype among the players.
Meddler acknowledged the return of the Emporium and the issues it had. He said, "On the negative side of things, we had some issues with it, both its technical functionality and with what was available being more limited than the past."
The community felt that the last iteration of the store was a huge letdown. Especially since the developers said that running the Essence Empoirum was inefficient and that it caused "delays and feature cuts in other projects” and Riot Games wanted to explore navigation and usability improvements for the Essence Emporium's return.
In fact, players noticed the following crowd favorites were gone and were no longer available:
Mystery icon chest
Mystery Ward Skin
Limited chromas
As a result, Riot Games will be bringing back the Blue Essence Emporium back in December 2023 with "the full range of Emporium eligible chromas, not just the half year version and also other content will be returning."
This includes mystery icons, mystery wards, mystery gifting and 50% discount on rune pages.
When the limited-time store goes live in December, players can expect to see it on the client for at least two weeks before it taken down.
