Asmongold Talks About Riot’s New MMO

Riot Games developer Greg “Ghostcrawler” Street caused quite a bit of social media outrage when he announced that there was no guarantee that the highly-anticipated League of Legends Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG) would actually release. When fans asked if the game was not going in the right direction, Ghostcrawler stated that Riot’s standards and the expectations of the players were high and that Riot would not ship a disappointing game. In the past few weeks, Ghostcrawler has made many tweets that indicate that the project is going well and that it might not be canceled after all.

In a recent stream, Zack aka Asmongold, a famous World of Warcraft player, shared his two cents on the release of the Riot Games MMO.

Asmongold reacted to a video titled “Riot MMO | Everything We Know (April 2022)” posted by the Youtube channel, Ryve Genesis. The Youtuber had referenced a 100-page document that he had compiled with everything he knows about the Riot Games MMO which is in early development.

The video discussed information that has been confirmed or is likely to be confirmed about the new MMO by the company. It also discussed some of the speculative information that has been thrown out in the open about the game.

After researching extensively about the game, the creator of the video also shared some of his takes on the MMORPG. He stated that the game could get released in early 2026.

Reacting to this video, Asmongold said, “Yeah, I would agree with that. That would be crazy. If they release it in 2026. When do you guys think Ashes of Creation is going to come out? I think it will probably come out in like two and a half, three years. Somewhere around there. Never? I feel like 2024 is probably a good time. And so yeah, I wonder how close these two games are going to get.”

Asmongold talked about Ashes of Creation, another upcoming MMORPG that is set in a world of high fantasy where the choices made by the players will shape and define the world around them.
