Apex Legends Season 16: Release Date, Class Reworks, Arenas Removed, and More Details
We are halfway into Season 15 of Apex Legends and players are constantly being bombarded with leaks that suggest major changes are coming to the game. The class system is getting a rework and we may finally get some Pathfinder and Mirage buffs after waiting for what feels like decades. There are also rumors suggesting Arenas will get removed from the game which might have a lot of fans disappointed.
Apex Legends Season 16 Release Date
Apex Legends Season 16 is set to release on 14th February which coincides with Valentine’s Day. It seems like Respawn Entertainment is fully aware that its playerbase will stay at home to play Apex Legends on the day.
Apex Legends Season 16 New Legend
There are leaks suggesting that a new legend will not come to the game next season but other leaks suggest that a new legend who goes by the codename Ballistic is coming to the game. It is unknown if the legend will arrive in Season 16 or in a later season.
Apex Legends Season 16: Gameplay Changes
While a class rework does not come as a surprise, the removal of Arenas is one of the drastic changes Respawn has ever done. The balancing in Arenas has been an issue for several seasons with Hammerpoint Rounds and some close range-weapons being too strong. While balance changes were introduced to address the meta outliers, the developers have not been able to balance the mode properly.
Many community members have datamined Titanfall map names in Apex Legends’ game files and Respawn has removed the “battle royale” tag from the game website which suggests the game could have more permanent game modes in the future.
If Arenas is taken out of Apex Legends, we should get a different game mode to substitute it. With just six weeks to go until we get access to the new season, fans can’t wait to see what Respawn has in store for the playerbase.
