- Shroud talks about how VALORANT is much easier than CS:GO.
- Says "there’s no argument it [has] a higher skill-ceiling than CS. You’d be crazy to say that"
Streamers exert massive influence over their fans through their opinions. Michael “shroud” Grzesiek is among such foremost personalities who routinely clock in massive viewership and sport a large fanbase. A former Counter-Strike professional who has seen extraordinary highs in his career, he switched to full-time streaming and has since built an empire by showing fascinating skill in FPSes.
It is therefore understandable that many of his fans value his thoughts and opinions on FPSes, especially competitive ones such as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Apex Legends, and now VALORANT. In the past, when asked whether he thinks VALORANT is really good, he replied: “it is incredible”. He has also spoken about how VALORANT is the game to bet on for the long run. Now, he’s dropped another hot take on the game.
In a June 7 YouTube upload, shroud says that the skill ceiling and the potential is a lot lower than Counter-Strike. He also talks about how VALORANT is intended for a more casual audience. “This game is trying to reach people that don’t play [shooters],” he says.
Citing aspects such as simple abilities and the ease to move around in utility, he makes the case for the game being much easier to pick up. Bringing Riot into the equation, he says that their goal is to make a “much easier first-person shooter experience”. Nevertheless, he professes that he “loves” the game and that he thinks it’s great.
Interestingly enough, he also says that “there’s no argument it [has] a higher skill-ceiling than CS. You’d be crazy to say that.”
