Some keen-eyed players in Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 have discovered an Operations folder that may be pointing at the release of new content in Call of Duty. In case you did not play the original Modern Warfare 2 from 2009, The Quarry is one of the classic maps from the game and you can visit the location in-game too.
The Quarry’s Operations Folder in Warzone 2
If you head to the Al-Safwa Quarry area, you will notice that the entire point of interest (POI) looks the same as the original Quarry map. The area has all of the original landmarks and buildings as the original map and inside it, you will find The Quarry’s Operations Folder.
The description of the folder reads, “Documents detailing Al-Qatala’s various operations, incoming and outgoing shipments, employees, customers, and government contracts. The documents also contain time stamps of shipments received unusually late at night, indicating shipments being moved under cover of darkness.”
The Al-Qatala organization referenced in the collectible references the fictional terrorist organization of the same name that is part of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Warzone 2, and DMZ. You can find the folder in the broken-down warehouse at the center of the Quarry area.
There are multiple secrets in the latest call of Duty with Building 21 which is supposed to have some secret challenges tied to it. The Quarry’s Operations Folder can potentially unlock future content in the game. Fans have not found a use for the folder just yet.
The Quarry’s Operations Folder could have future content implications
The operation folder is unusable and you cannot redeem the item for cash at buy stations. Players are not sure if the item is an easter egg or if it will have some use in the future. The folder was added to the game without any patch notes. Players are speculating that the item could be hinting at the re-release of The Quarry map from the original Modern Warfare 2 but there are no leaks or official hints pointing at its release yet.
