Warzone 2.0’s DMZ mode continues to receive new content and this week’s Season 1 Reloaded update brought a whole new area. While the area exists in the game it is not accessible at the moment. Area 21 is in a separate location that isn’t present in Al-Mazrah and Infinity Ward expects players to figure out how to access Building 21 once it goes live in-game. The developers will NOT tell players when Building 21 will go live and it is a puzzle that the community will have to crack on its own.
How to access Building 21 in Warzone 2.0 DMZ
The new area is officially known as a “clandestine biological laboratory codenamed Building 21”. The location of the building is classified and the “benefactors are unknown”. From what we have discovered so far, there will be safes and special areas that players can access only if they have keycards for Building 21.
It is currently unknown when the area will go live and we have to wait until the community figures out how to unlock Building 21. Many are speculating that Building 21 could be a raid area. The developers introduced raids to Modern Warfare 2 where players have to complete specific challenges to get hold of keys and Building 21 could have something similar in place.
If previous community challenges are anything to go by, players will likely have to find Building 21 keys that will allow access to the area. Currently, keys in DMZ can be acquired by killing artificial intelligence (AI) enemies and looting them. Players can also obtain keys by opening containers and breaking into Strongholds.
The Chimera assault rifle is likely to be the reward for unlocking Building 21. It is a new weapon that was added in the recent Season 1 Reloaded update and we might have to fight hordes of AI opponents to get our hands on the shiny new weapon. Once players figure out how to unlock Building 21, we will post a guide to get the new assault rifle as efficiently as possible.
