Highlights
Valorant Episode 7 will introduce a new system called Agent Recruitment Events that will replace Agent Contracts.
Players will gain access to a special 28-day event pass for free to unlock agents each time a new agent is introduced.

When Valorant Episode 7 drops, Agent Contracts will be reworked into Agent Recruitment Events and there will be a special Agent Store and Agent Gear feature added to the game as well. With the Agent Contract system getting a complete overhaul, here is a quick rundown of how the new Agent Recruitment Events will work in Valorant Episode 7.

How to unlock agents starting from Valorant Episode 7

These are free event passes that automatically activate the day a new Agent releases and stay active for 28 days. Unlocking Agents takes about the same amount of time as it did before the new system was implemented.

While earning Agent Recruitment progress and XP, you’ll also earn Kingdom Credits that can be used toward items in the Agent Store, Agent Gear, and Accessory Store. You can still spend Valorant Points (VP) any time to buy the Agent right away.

In case you miss the XP target to unlock the Agent during the Agent Recruitment Event, you can unlock the Agent in the Agent Store using Kingdom Credits, VP, or Agent Unlock Tokens (which you earn as a new player) any time after the recruitment event pass ends.

All the items from Agent Contracts, like Gekko’s Shorty or Fade’s Player Card, are still available. If you own the associated Agent, you can now choose whether to unlock their Agent Gear with Kingdom Credits - or spend your Credits on something else.

Agent Recruitment Events unlock Agents, but not their gear. Gear now unlocks in Tiers - in a specific order. There are 10 Agent Gear Tiers, similar to how Agent Contracts had 10 Levels.

For Agents you did not earn in the old system, you'll get some Kingdom Credits as a bonus. For Agents you did unlock in the old system, you won't get those Credits, since you already earned that reward - the Agent.

The new system rewards players who are active when a new agent launches but it also doesn’t take any loot away from players who might take a break from the game or join the game late.
