The Hermit Quest in Escape From Tarkov Explained

The Hermit quest in Escape from Tarkov is given by trader Ivan Yegorovich Kharitonov, also known by his alias "Jaeger." The quest happens on Lighthouse, the eighth location that was added to the game by Battlestate Games. The Hermit quest requires you to spot Jaeger’s friend on Lighthouse and pass on a note to the trader. To begin this quest you need to be level 20. Additionally, the Hermit quest is an exploration task in the game and is fairly straightforward to complete.

The Hermit Quest Guide

When you take up the task from Jaeger he says that he has lost almost everyone close to him because of the carnage around and that there is nobody to even talk to at dinner. He adds, “There's you who comes by for an hour or two, but you go back to that war of yours, even if there's no point in fighting anymore. Eh, I won't burden you with my talks. I have a request for you.”

Following this, he tells you the details of his friend. “I had a good friend, we always were very close together - similar in character, understood each other perfectly. He's set up at the Cape Dalniy, in that old village, but far from the people - made a nice dugout for himself at the outskirts. I don't know if anyone still lives in that village, but I do want you to find my friend. I'll be waiting to hear from you, kid,” says Jaeger, narrating the quest details.

The quest objectives are:

• Locate the hideout of Jaeger's friend on Lighthouse

• Find and obtain the message for Jaeger

• Hand over the message without dying

Make sure to start this quest from the West side of the map. You will find a small note with a wanted message on it and this will be found below the door to Jaeger’s friend’s hideout. This hideout can be located in the village on the eastern island.

After you’ve retrieved the message, you can make your way to the ‘Path to Shoreline’ extraction to make it out of the raid.
