Overwatch players may encounter an error where the game is stuck on ‘Entering Game’ once it is launched. Server issues, network configuration issues or even security software like antiviruses and firewalls can leave Overwatch stuck on entering game. The first step to take while trying to resolve the error is to check if the Blizzard servers are down. Blizzard CS accounts on Twitter regularly inform players about any server issues and scheduled maintenance. You can check the Blizzard CS for North America and Europe for any updates on Overwatch servers being down. If the servers are up and running, here is what you can do if Overwatch is stuck on ‘Entering Game’.
How to solve issues that leave Overwatch stuck on entering game
Players should make sure their game is updated by selecting ‘Check for Updates’ from the ‘Options’ menu, next to the Play button in the Battle.net client.
If your game is already up to date, from the same ‘Options’ menu, select the ‘Scan and Repair’ option to check for any damaged game files. Select the best region for your account Regions menu, located above the Play button.
If that doesn’t work, reset your network devices by shutting down your PC and then your modem and router for 60 seconds. Switch on your modem and wait for it to establish connection with your service provider, then reconnect your PC to the network.
Another option is to renew your IP and flush your DNS to resolve any network conflicts.
Press Windows Key and type CMD.
Right-click Command Prompt and run it as administrator.
Type ipconfig /release press the Enter key
After that runs, type ipconfig /renew in the command prompt and press the Enter key on your keyboard.
Wait for a reply that says the IP address has been re-established.
Type ipconfig /flushdns in the command prompt and press the Enter key.
Close the command prompt and get into the game again.
Check your network configuration by typing Firewall.cpl in Run on Windows. Disable any proxies that may interfere with the login module. Update or make exceptions for Overwatch in any security programs you’re using and finally try closing background applications to resolve any software conflicts. If none of this works, uninstall and reinstall the game. If reinstalling Overwatch fails, contact Blizzard support by clicking here.
