Minecraft 1.20 Trials and Tales Update: What’s New?

Here is a quick rundown of everything new that is coming to the new update.

New Biome

The Trials and Tales Update will introduce a brand-new cherry blossom biome which will allow you to farm two new wood sets (bamboo and cherry). Bamboo wood sets can be used to craft rafts.

New Animals

The biome will also feature camels, which you can mount. It is a very practical animal as melee enemies will not be able to reach you and you can just ride your camel past them. The second mob joining Minecraft in 1.20 is the one that the community voted for during Minecraft Live 2022. The sniffer will be joining Minecraft in the upcoming update. You can use the sniffer to uncover treasures.

Archeology

The newest activity to be added to the game is archeology. You can uncover hidden artifacts in suspicious sand and suspicious gravel blocks by using the new brush tool. You can find sniffer eggs, pottery sherds and tools.

Armor Trims

Armor trims are patterns for your armor that allow you to personalize your armor in Minecraft. You can now visually customize your armor with a variety of unique trims at the Smithing Table. All armor is viable for trims except for leather armor and they are purely visual with no gameplay benefits, and can only be applied to Helmets, Chestplates, Leggings and Boots.

New Customization Features

The game now allows you to hang signs, create a library and more. All of the new content will be available for free to existing Minecraft players in the upcoming update.
