Riot Games in its recent patch has made significant changes to the death timers in ARAM mode.
Here’s everything you need to know about the ARAM death timers in LoL Patch 13.4.

Any League of Legends player would tell you how fun and relaxing it is to play the Howling Abyss map in the ARAM [All Random All Mid] mode. But at the same time, when you reach the mid-game point, the game can completely turn against you in the time span of one teamfight given that the death timers are so long. In League of Legends (LoL) Patch 13.4, Riot Games has finally addressed the length of the death timers in ARAM, bringing joy to players who enjoy this fun game mode. Last year, major changes were introduced to ARAM including balance changes, longer death timers, tower rubbles and hexgates.

Here’s everything you need to know about the death timers in ARAM that were changed in LoL Patch 13.4.

Riot Games said in its patch notes, “All ARAM Death Timers have been reverted to their [LoL Patch] 12.22 values.”

Here are the original death timers along with the changed death timers in ARAM mode in LoL Patch 13.4:

  • Level 3: 12 seconds ⇒ 10 seconds

  • Level 4: 16 seconds ⇒ 12 seconds

  • Level 5: 19 seconds ⇒ 14 seconds

  • Level 6: 21 seconds ⇒ 16 seconds

  • Level 7: 23 seconds ⇒ 18 seconds

  • Level 8: 25 seconds ⇒ 20 seconds

  • Level 9: 26 seconds ⇒ 22 seconds

  • Level 10: 27 seconds ⇒ 24 seconds

  • Level 11: 28 seconds ⇒ 26 seconds

  • Level 12: 30 seconds ⇒ 28 seconds

  • Level 13:32 seconds ⇒ 30 seconds

  • Level 14: 34 seconds ⇒ 32 seconds

  • Level 15: 36 seconds ⇒ 34 seconds

  • Level 16: 38 seconds ⇒ 36 seconds

  • Level 17: 40 seconds ⇒ 38 seconds

  • Level 18: 42 seconds ⇒ 40 seconds

As you can see, players will spawn faster when they die in the early game and the late-game death timers are relatively close to the ones in LoL Patch 13.3. Towards the later levels in the game, the death timers have been reduced by a couple of seconds. However, even a couple of seconds saved can change the outcome of the game in ARAM.

ARAM players have been reacting positively to the death timer changes. Talking about these changes, one Redditor said, “I only played 3 ARAM games today with friends, with limited time, and had to go to work. We already noticed how nice it feels to respawn so quickly after our level 3/4 banger teamfights. Thank you Rito for reverting the death timer change, from an ARAM enjoyer.

Replying to this post, a Riot Games developer said, “Thank you! We're really glad it's being well-received :) A few of our tests went REALLY long, so we're monitoring to make sure game times don't get excessive, but we're seeing good trends in the data so far.
