Riot Games revealed the dates for the first Clash tournament of 2023, the Bilgewater Cup.
Here’s everything you need to know about it.

League of Legends Clash is a monthly tournament organized by Riot Games that allows players to team up as five and compete against other teams of the same skill level. Players start by forming teams, scouting for players, and the matches take place on weekends. This competitive game mode in League of Legends allows teams to join an eight-team bracket on either Saturday or Sunday or both days to compete for rewards and prizes. Every Clash tournament in a season has a unique title like the Ionia Cup or the Piltover Cup.

If you have been wondering why there has not been a Clash tournament yet this year, it is due to a social engineering attack that Riot Games suffered. Following this, many of the game’s features and schedules were disrupted. However, Riot assured that it was working swiftly to resume Clash tournaments which usually begin in February.

As promised, in the LoL Patch 13.4 notes, the company introduced the first Clash tournament of 2023: the Bilgewater Cup’s schedule.

Notably, your team can only join one Clash bracket each day, and once you've joined, that specific team is locked in for the entire bracket. However, if things don't go well on Saturday, you can again participate on Sunday and try again, with the same squad or even a new one.

In the LoL Patch 13.4 notes, Riot Games said, “The first Clash tournament of the year is coming up next month! Here’s a look at the upcoming Bilgewater Cup dates.
