Recently, the publisher gave more information about Clash and ARAM Clash in a developer diary update.

League of Legends players were treated to a very fun and entertaining in-game tournament in December 2022 where Riot Games introduced ARAM [All Random All Mid] Clash. The ARAM mode in League of Legends is one place where a majority of players let loose and enjoy the game without caring about their ranks. In December 2022, Riot Games announced that the last Clash tournament of the 2022 season would be played out on the Howling Abyss map and followed it up promptly. Ever since the tournament concluded, players have been wondering whether the ARAM Clash would make a comeback in 2023. Well, Riot Games and its developers [dev] gave some updates on this topic.

On 16th February, Riot Games released a dev diary giving updates about Clash in 2023 and the comeback of fan-favorite ARAM Clash. The good news is Riot Games revealed that ARAM Clash is returning in 2023.

Here’s all we know about it.

Clash, ARAM Clash, & Returning Date

In League of Legends, Clash is a monthly tournament organized by Riot Games that allows players to team up as five and compete against other teams of the same skill level. Players can start forming teams and scouting for players on Monday of every Clash week, but the actual matches take place on Saturday and Sunday. Usually, Clash matches take place on the Summoner’s Rift map. However, the last Clash tournament of 2022 was played in the ARAM mode on Howling Abyss.

The dates for both Clash and ARAM Clash in 2023 have not been revealed. Clash usually kicks off in February and this year, the tournament has been delayed due to the social engineering attack.

Notably, earlier on 1st February, Riot Games' global community manager and patch notes author Lilu “Riot Riru” Cabreros stated that the developers are still working to understand the implications of the social engineering attack on Clash tournament dates.

On Reddit, Riot Riru said, “We have an official update coming in the patch notes in a few days which is typically the best way to share news like this with players everywhere. All of that said, I literally just got word that we might be able to hit the first weekend of March, but honestly, that’s not even 100% so please don’t hold this information against us.”

Confirming this, in the latest dev blog, Riot Games simply said, “ARAM Clash will be making a return.
