Riot Games will be hosting the last Clash tournament of the season on Howling Abyss.
Players will get to experience Clash on ARAM in December.

Let’s be honest, we’ve all had that one friend who tries way too hard to win a game of All Random All Mid (ARAM). Well, this should be music to their ears as Riot Games has announced that the last Clash tournament of this season in 2022 would be played out on the Howling Abyss map. In League of Legends, Clash is a monthly tournament organized by Riot Games that allows players to team up as five and compete against other teams of the same skill level. Players can start forming teams and scouting for players on Monday of every Clash week, but the actual matches take place on Saturday and Sunday. Usually, Clash matches take place on the Summoner’s Rift map.

ARAM is a game mode in League of Legends in a 5v5 format on the Howling Abyss with the objective to destroy the opposing team's nexus. This map was released in 2012 and players are given random champions from the available champion pool and are able to trade or reroll their picks. Notably, there’s only one lane (middle) in the mode.

ARAM Clash 2022: All you need to know

Riot Games released a set of changes for ARAM in the upcoming 2023 season including features like Hexgates, new brushes, and a new mechanic known as “falling towers.” The publisher said, “As a special thank you to ARAM players everywhere, we’re going to be hosting our last Clash of the year on Howling Abyss! This Clash will be free-to-enter and feature an 8-team bracket where each team gets to play 3 matches.

The following will be the format for ARAM Clash:

  • ARAM Clash is free-to-enter

  • Eight-team bracket

  • Every team will play three matches

  • Each player will receive two rerolls per game

To those unfamiliar with ARAM, players are given random champions from the available champion pool and will able to trade or reroll their picks. Every player will be given two rerolls during ARAM Clash which means that you will have the opportunity to reroll for two new random champions.

Notably, the ARAM map changes are scheduled to go live alongside LoL Patch 12.23 on 7th December.

Registration for this special, for-fun Clash will begin on 5th December and the tournament days will be on 10th and 11th December. So make sure you get used to the new ARAM changes before you lock in your Clash squad.

Additionally, players participating in this special Clash tournament will receive a limited-time, exclusive ARAM clash icon.

If you are looking forward to playing some spicy, competitive League of Legends with your friends, Clash is the best tournament to begin with and now you can play the stress-free, straightforward ARAM on Clash!
