How to Get the Slay Ride Gun Buddy in Valorant?

It has been less than a week since Riot Games released the Pocket Sage gun buddy in Valorant as part of the Riot Games x Xbox Game Pass. Now, the publisher has taken the Valorant community by surprise by announcing yet another gun buddy that you can sport in-game. Riot Games’ latest gun buddy – the Slay Ride gun buddy – is totally in theme with the holiday season and is a direct celebration of Christmas. The Slay Ride buddy is distributed in partnership with Amazon’s Prime Gaming. Here’s how you can claim the free buddy with Prime Gaming this month.

Slay Ride gun buddy: It’s starting to feel like Christmas in Valorant

Valorant was released in 2020 and since then, the game has constantly catered to its player base, releasing an array of agents, gun cosmetics, player cards, and gun buddies. Over the course of two years, Riot Games has released over 200 gun buddies that can be added to guns. 

Simply put, Gun buddies are a type of cosmetic in Valorant and are weapon charms that modify the appearance of the weapons. They can be unlocked by completing agent contracts, battle passes, or by purchasing them from skin collection bundles. According to Fandom, there are currently 286 different gun buddies. 

Out of the 286 gun buddies, only a handful of them are snowy buddies, and the latest one to join the collection is the winter-themed Slay Ride gun buddy. Notably, the Slay Ride Gun buddy is the fourteenth one to be released in partnership with Prime Gaming, exclusively for the month of December. 

Interestingly, the Slay Ride gun buddy is a play on the word “sleigh,” which is a sled drawn by horses or reindeer and used for passengers. It is a very Christmas-themed mode of transport that is used on snow and this gun buddy sports a reindeer on a sled.

How to claim the Slay Ride Gun buddy?

• The first step is to go to the Prime Gaming website and sign in with your Riot Games account.

• You will now be redirected to the Priming Gaming page

• Here, you will see an “in-game content” pop-up.

• Click on the ‘Claim Now’ option to get the gun buddy in your inventory

• Now, you should be able to see the Slay Ride gun buddy in your collection tab in Valorant

However, if you do not currently have a subscription, you will have to subscribe for either the 30-day free trial or a one-month subscription for Prime Gaming. Following this, you can log in with your Riot account and link the two accounts to receive rewards.

However, if you have saved Valorant Points (VP) to buy some other skin in-game, there’s good news for you because Valorant’s annual Night Market goes live on 7th December and will be available for an entire month. Players will get access to a selection of purchasable cosmetics to choose from until 4th January 2023. Riot Games modeled the feature after “Your Shop” from League of Legends and it has allowed players to get their hands on expensive skins at hefty discounts over the past year.
