Call of Duty: Warzone 2 has completely replaced the original Warzone but players still have the option to download Warzone 1. In case you miss the old maps or any of the old content, you can download the game. However, most of the game modes have been taken out and only the legacy battle royale modes are still available. You will also not get any game updates so don’t expect much in the way of content. Here is how you can download and play Warzone 1.
Download and Play Warzone 1 / Warzone Caldera
The Resurgence game mode is not a part of Warzone Caldera and it is not available in Warzone 2.0 either. If you specifically want to play Resurgence, you will need to wait until Activision introduces the mode to Warzone 2. While there is no official confirmation yet, there are leaks hinting at the game mode’s return. Here’s how you can download Warzone 1 which is now known as Warzone Caldera.
PlayStation
On the PlayStation Store, search for “Warzone Caldera” and you will be able to download the game. If you originally installed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare from a disc but no longer have the disc, you will need to delete your Modern Warfare installation before you can access Warzone
From the PlayStation dashboard, navigate to Library.
Under Games, find and highlight Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
Press the OPTIONS button and select Delete.
Return to the Warzone game page in the Store to download the game.
You will need about 100 GB of free space to install the game.
Xbox
Go to the Xbox Store and search for Warzone Caldera, and you will be able to download the game. The installation size is around 98GB on Xbox.
Battle.net (PC)
Here’s how you can download Warzone 1 on PC.
Open the Battle.net client
Navigate to Modern Warfare
Click on the ‘Manage Content’ tab, located on the left
Check the box titled ‘Warzone Caldera’ and click confirm
Warzone Caldera is not available on Steam and players will have to download the game from Battle.net. The installation size is around 100GB on PC.
