The Arena mode, which is an amalgamation of Teamfight Tactics (TFT) and League of Legends, was released on 20th July along with the big 2023 Summer Event: Soul Fighter. Players had been eagerly awaiting this limited-time mode (LTM) and now that it is live on the client, many have been trying to show their competitive edge and rank amongst the best in their server. Just like how League of Legends Summoner's Rift has ranked ladders for Solo/Duo and Flex queues, the Arena mode also has a ranked ladder.
In this article, we will take a closer look at the rank distribution in Arena mode and also learn how to navigate to the leaderboard of this newly launch game mode.
Rank & Ranked Ladder in Arena Mode 2v2v2v2
In Arena Mode, players team up with a friend or a solo queue comrade to fight other pairs in a series of 2v2 fights. When you enter the game, you will be armed with powerful Augments that change the way your champion plays and buy items that you know and love.
Just like TFT, each team has collective health that takes damage every time they lose a round. A team is eliminated when their collective health drops to zero and below, while the last team standing with health wins the entire game. Interestingly, when a team is eliminated, the duo can leave the game early and immediately queue up for another match.
Riot Games said, “In order to make this game mode appeal to both types of players we drew some inspiration from our neighbors on TFT and added a ladder that players can climb like they have in Hyper Roll.”
The ranks in Arena mode are as follows going from lowest to highest:
Wood
Bronze
Silver
Gold
Gladiator
You gain points by placing in the top two teams, and lose points by placing in the bottom two. However, you do not have to worry about needing to win right away since Riot Games has added loss mitigation for the first five games you play.
Ranked Ladder for Arena Mode
In League of Legends, players in the Apex tiers can be spotted on a live ranked ladder. Each tier has a minimum LP requirement, but players must overtake each other's points to gain standing. On the client, you can take a look at the top Solo/Duo players, Flex 5v5 players, and even TFT's top players.
Likewise, with the addition of the Arena mode, Riot Games has added a ranked ladder to it where you can spot the top Arena players in your server.
Here's how you check the top Arena mode players in your region:
1. Open the League of Legends client.
2. Navigate to your 'Profile' tab and you will be on the 'Overview' page by default.
3. Click on 'Ranked' on the top menu bar beside 'Match History'.
4. You will see a 'drop down' menu with 'Top Solo/Duo players' written. Click on it and scroll till you find 'Arena Mode'.
5. Click on the 'Top Arena Players' option and you will find the players in the Gladiator tier.
Riot’s goal is to make Arena a great summer event mode and that it stated that there is a real good chance that it would aim to bring back a significantly-upgraded version of the mode in the long term. Currently, the Arena mode will be live on the client till the end of the Summer 2023 event, that is, 28th August.
