Escape From Tarkov Backup Hideout Key: Guaranteed Spawn Location, Usage & More
The backup Hideout key can be found on the new map of Streets of Tarkov and is a key to the Informant's second hideout. Ever since the update that dropped on 28th December 2022, players have been grinding through quests and upgrading their Hideouts in Escape from Tarkov as they started afresh with the new wipe. Firstly, there was a massive upgrade to the Hideout where Battlestate Games added a gym for players to work out and increase their stats apart from quests. The backup Hideout key is a single-use key and it can be used to open a door on the Streets of Tarkov map.
Here’s all you need to know about the backup Hideout key, its spawn location, and its usage in Escape from Tarkov.
Where to find the backup Hideout key in Escape From Tarkov?
Before we get into the details of the spawn location and the usage of the backup Hideout key, you must know that the item is currently banned from the flea market, meaning that you cannot buy or sell it on the market. When you try to use the “Add offer” on the flea market and list your backup Hideout key, you will see this message: “This item can’t be sold at the flea market.”
This key has a static, 100% spawn on Streets of Tarkov. You can still find it in the pockets and bags of Scavs as well as in jackets. However, this is the guaranteed spawn location of the backup Hideout key:
You can obtain the key just outside the Small Cinema building on the Streets of Tarkov. The Small Cinema is located opposite the Pinewood Hotel. Once you retrieve the key from Small Cinema, you will have to navigate to the Big Cinema to use it.
Here’s how you get the backup Hideout key from the Small Cinema building:
Your character will spawn just outside the Lexos building.
When the Lexos building is on your right, when you move forward, you will see the Pinewood Hotel on the left and the Small Cinema in front of you.
You will have to go to the side of the Small Cinema building and enter its Electrical room.
When you go around the back of the Small Cinema, you will see a ghost painted on a wall and the Electrical room is adjacent to it.
You will notice a green glowstick inside the room near a duffle bag.
When you open the bag, you will find the backup Hideout key.
Now, you will have to make your way to the large Cinema on the map. Your goal is to get to the base of the front staircase that leads to the second floor of the Cinema. Here you will notice the word “Home” spraypainted on the side of the wall, and notice a door near it. This is where you will use your backup Hideout key.
Once you open the room, you will find the following:
1x Wooden crate
1x Sport bag
Loose loot (Electronics, Valuables)
The interesting part about this room is the big hole in the back wall. Currently, you can only look through it to find a dead Scav. It is speculated that this Hideout will come into play for a later quest.
