The latest one that has been troubling players is the “no supported DXGI adapter found” error.
Here’s how you can fix it.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (MW2) was released on 28th October and just like any other Call of Duty (COD) release, the game saw a slew of bugs, glitches, and random crashes. Players also experienced a number of issues including “dev errors” that dropped them out of games all of a sudden. But these issues have not stopped players from buying and enjoying MW2. Activision confirmed that Modern Warfare 2 is now the fastest-selling COD game of all time and that it broke both sales and player count records. The latest error that has been plaguing COD Modern Warfare 2 players is the “no supported DXGI adapter found” one.

Here’s how you can fix the error in MW2 and jump back in-game.

“No Supported DXGI Adapter Found” Error in COD MW2 explained

The “no supported DXGI adapter found” error can appear on launch and it essentially stops you from joining any games. The fix for this particular error is fairly straightforward and it does not occur due to a hardware issue. Note that there’s no physical adapter that you have to connect to in order to fix this error pop-up.

The error occurs when the graphics card needs an update. You can fix the “no supported DXGI adapter found” error by updating your graphics card drivers since this error mainly occurs if the drivers are not up-to-date with the latest version available.

Some games may not require your graphics card to be updated and run perfectly fine. However, newer games like Modern Warfare 2 sometimes require the graphics card to have the most recent updates to be played.

Without the graphics driver, your PC will have no instruction on how to communicate with the graphics card and will not be able to draw the pixels you see on the monitor.

AMD card driver update

If you have an AMD card, you can navigate to the AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition program on your PC to update your graphics card.

Once you open the program, you should be able to see a section dedicated to driver and software. It will specify the current version that you are running and beside it, you should be able to spot the next update available. Now, click on the download button to update your AMD card’s drivers.

NVIDIA card update

If you have an NVIDIA card, you will likely have to navigate through the GeForce Experience software. While it allows for automatic updates, you should still check if the latest update has been downloaded.

Once you’ve updated your graphics card drivers, launch Modern Warfare 2. The “no supported DXGI adapter found” error should no longer pop up on your screen. However, it is recommended that you restart your system before you launch the game just to cover all bases.
