Best Champions to Play on Nexus Blitz

The last time League of Legends players were looking for top-tier champions to play in a different game mode was when Arena mode or the 2v2v2v2 mode was available in the game. Keeping up its promise of bringing unique and fun game modes, Riot Games has brought back Nexus Blitz from the shadows.

Initially, via its 28th August Dev Update, Riot Games developers Jeremy “Brightmoon” Lee and Andrei “Meddler” van announced announced the return of the popular 5v5 limited-time game mode Nexus Blitz. Now that it is back up and running, players are able to enjoy the game mode for a limited time in 2023, after a wait of three years.

On cue, the game mode returned to the League of Legends client on 25th October with the latest patch: LoL Patch 13.21.

Here are some of the best champions to play in this game mode.

Top-tier Champions to Play on LoL Nexus Blitz Mode

S-tier champions are those that are fail-proof and work like clockwork every time you pick them in this game mode. However, know that since these are "OP" (overpowered) picks, they could get banned before you enter the battlefield.

Before we get into the data, here's how the game mode works:

The Nexus Blitz game mode features a Draft Pick style champion select and players can choose between Bottom, Jungle, or Fill roles. Players are allowed to ban a champion each.

As you enter champion select, the first event for the mode is revealed. Additionally, all champions gain the following:

• Summoner spell haste.

• Bonus mana regeneration per 5 seconds.

• Experience over time.

• Bonus magic resistance.

Here are the top three champion to play on Nexus Blitz mode in LoL Patch 13.21:

Kog'Maw

Kog'Maw is placed in the S tier and has a staggering 62.2% win rate. His pick rate is 0.3% and his ban rate is 1.9%, at the time of writing this article. You can pair up this attack damage carry (ADC) champion with the likes of Yasuo, Yone, Lux, Cailtyn, and Kaisa.
