Back Door Quest in Escape From Tarkov Explained

Ever since the new update that dropped on 28th December 2022, players have been grinding through quests and upgrading their Hideouts and loadouts in Escape from Tarkov as they started afresh with the new wipe. Back Door is one such quest in Escape from Tarkov. This quest is given to the player by trader Sergey Arsenyevich Samoylov, known by his alias "Mechanic" in Escape from Tarkov. The quest happens at the Reserve location. It has two major objectives and to take up this quest, you will have to be at a certain level in the game.

Back Door Quest Guide

The prerequisite for doing this task is that you need to be at least Level 14 in the game. The task objectives are as follows:

• Find the unpowered secret exit on Reserve

• Extract through that exit

When you start this Back Door quest, the Mechanic says that he is always fascinated by complex technology and that he was told that somewhere on Reserve there is an underground exit, which is activated from somewhere else. He adds, “Anyhow, It would be great if you sniffed that place out. The base is quite a hell hole as you know, and I am willing to pay generously for any information on how to get out of there safely. I want to send people there to gather military equipment, but I'm afraid they'll just get killed if they don't find that secret exit.”

To do the Back Door quest, you will have to head over to the D2 extract underground in Reserve. You can get to the D2 extract underground by entering through the White Pawn building. You will have to turn on the power with a level in the command center of the underground bunker. 

After this, press the button on the wall next to the sliding door at the extraction. This will trigger a loud noise and the sliding door will immediately move to the right, allowing you to pass through it. 

You need to exit the raid with the "Survived" status to finish the quest. Players need to note that a "Run Through" status will not complete the quest. In order to avoid the “run through” status, players need to gain at least 200 EXP in the raid by killing or looting or be in the raid for at least seven minutes before extracting.

• 1× SV-98 7.62x54R bolt-action sniper rifle
