All the Revised Champion Prices in League of Legends
In February, Riot Games stated that it will be updating the pricing of League of Legends champions with the sole intention of making acquiring champions easier for new players. Its new pricing system will help guide players to choose champions that they are more likely to enjoy early on in their League of Legends journey. League of Legends currently has 162 champions, with K’Sante being the latest addition to the champion roster. If you have not been playing the game from the early days, it is mighty difficult to acquire all the champions just by spending Blue Essence (BE) or Riot Points (RP).
While Riot Games has yet to reveal the revised prices of the champions officially, the new prices have been leaked, reportedly thanks to the Chinese League of Legends website. One Redditor posted all the costs on the League of Legends subreddit and a few of the Riot Games developers commented on the post as well.
Tim “truexy” Jiang commented on the post talking about the principles Riot Games has while deciding the new prices for the champions.
Here’s everything you need to know about the new pricing system for League of Legends.
New prices for League of Legends Champions
Earlier, Riot Games said the League of Legends champions pricing system will now be based on how many seasons the champion has been live rather than how many champions have been released since. It noted that it plans for new champions to initially have a higher price point, which after a week shall be discounted, and shall further go on to get an additional discount after two seasons. On top of that, champions that undergo VGUs (Visual/Gameplay Updates), CGUs (Core/Comprehensive Gameplay Updates), or Midscope updates that change their tier will also see their prices updated if Riot Games feel that they have become better experiences.
With this being said, here are the new prices and the champions who fall in that category:
