Riot Games is making huge quality of life changes to TFT's item system.
The changes include six new items, three adjusted items, a new support item class, and more.
Here's everything you need to know about the support item class and the items that were moved to this category.

The mid-set or Set 9.5 of Teamfight Tactics (TFT) is called Runeterra Reforged: Horizonbound and Riot Games has revealed all that is in store for this major update. The publisher also made it clear that with TFT Set 9.5 Horizonbound, it is not just focused on introducing new units and traits, but is extremely committed to the qualify of life changes to different aspects of the game.

In this mid-set update, Riot Games is adding two new regions and a number of new champion units and a plethora of changes to the item system of TFT.

One of the headliners of this update is the introduction of a new item class called 'support items' and here's all we know about them so far in TFT Set 9.5

Support Items in TFT Set 9.5

Items in TFT are crafted meticulously by the players using individual components and they are the most important method to power up champion units.

Riot Games stated that one of the big obstacles when it comes to building items are the more supportive items like Zephyr and Zeke’s Herald. While these items are incredibly powerful in the late game, they do not prove to be that useful in Stage 2 or 3. For instance, when you notice Giant's Belt, Negatron Cloak, or Tear of the Goddess, they are not very appealing in the early rounds.

As a result, in Horizonbound, Riot Games is moving supportive items into a new "uncraftable category" called the Support Items. Support Items is the new item class in TFT that will contain uncraftable items focused on providing teamwide support and non-selfish outputs.

Notably, it will include old items like Shroud of Stillness and Locket of the Iron Solari, and also some new items. Interestingly, the developers have given all these support items a uniform 250 Health, and they noted that these will be much more powerful than their core item versions. Additionally, Shroud of Stillness and Zephyr can no longer be equipped during combat starting with Horizonbound.

These items will also have good utility and teamwide power. Here are all the support items in TFT Set 9.5:

  • Aegis of the Legion

  • Banshee's Veil

  • Chalice of Harmony

  • Needlessly Big Gem

  • Locket of the Iron Solari

  • Obsidian Clever

  • Randuin's Omen

  • Shroud of Stillness

  • Virtue of the Martyr

  • Zeke's Herald

  • Zephyr

  • ZZ'Rot's Invitation

Set 9.5 is all ready to be released with Patch 13.18 on 13th September and players can enjoy the new vertical traits of Bilgewater and Ixtal in this update very soon.
