League of Legends has a lot of skins and cosmetics that are collectable by players and fans. While some of them are common, others are exclusive and unique. Apart from champion skins, players can spend in-game currencies such as Blue Essence (BE) and Riot Points (RP) to buy cosmetics like summoner icons, emotes, borders, chromas, and many more.

A summoner icon is an avatar or a picture that represents a League of Legends player and is displayed on the summoner's profile page. This icon appears next to other summoners' names on friend lists, in chat rooms, and lobbies and loading screens. This collection is always expanding and the one of the most sought-after set of summoner's icons is the Champie icons in League of Legends.

Here's all you need to know about the Champie icons in League of Legends and how to purchase them.

Champie Icons: Where & How to Buy Them in League of Legends?

Champie icons are chibi-versions of champions in League of Legends that are exclusively sold through the Blue Essence Emporium. Over the many years, Riot Games has released new Champie icons every year through the Essence Emporium.

This year, in LoL Patch 13.17, Riot Games brought back the Essence Emporium. It said, "The Blue Essence Emporium is back! You'll be able to spend your Blue Essence on chromas, accessories, and more starting on September 6, 21:00 BST. The Emporium will remain open until September 20 , 21:00 BST, so make sure to drop by!"

Currently, in the game, the Champie icons have been categorized according to their origin location:

  • Demacia

  • Freljord

  • Shurima

  • Ixtal

  • Targon

  • The Void

  • Shadow Isles

Each region is presented as a Loot Box priced 2500 Blue Essence in the Blue Essence Emporium. In total, there are 13 regions and 135 icons, according to Redditor Tai_Ly.

Another user stated that 130 champions out of 165 have champie icons and the following are the champions without one yet:

  • Anivia

  • Aphelios

  • Bel'Veth

  • Brand

  • Briar

  • Dr. Mundo

  • Gragas

  • Hecarim

  • Jax

  • Kalista

  • Kassadin

  • K'Sante

  • Malphite

  • Malzahar

  • Maokai

  • Naafiri

  • Nami

  • Nilah

  • Nocturne

  • Orianna

  • Qiyana

  • Quinn

  • Rell

  • Renata Glasc

  • Renekto

  • Ryze

  • Shyvana

  • Singed

  • Skarner

  • Trundle

  • Udyr

  • Varus

  • Xerath

  • Yorick

  • Zac

Interestingly, once you have all Champie icons of one region's box from the Essence Emporium, you will get a permanent duplicate in your inventory, which can be sold for 2500 BE.

For LoL Patch 13.17's Essence Emporium, Riot Games has released 39 new Champie icons of which two belong to Taliyah.

While Champie icons enthusiasts are ecstatic with the Emporium, some of the players are disappointed as the following crowd favorites are gone and are no longer available:

  • Mystery icon chest

  • Mystery Ward Skin

  • Limited chromas

Blue Essence is one of the primary currencies to unlock League of Legends content apart from Riot Points (RP). Blue Essence can be obtained by leveling up, completing missions, disenchanting champion shards, or opening Champion Capsules that one receives for leveling up.

Blue Essence is used for purchasing champions, hextech crafting mystery champion shards, additional rune pages, upgrading champion mastery to level six or seven, and changing summoner names.
