QQQ, one of the most storied Chinese Dota 2 coaches, has joined Vici Gaming as an assistant coach.
Vici gaming announced this move via their Weibo account, stating that Yao "QQQ" Yi has joined them as their assistant coach from 20th August 2021, on loan from EHOME.
QQQ will now assist Lu "Fenrir" Chao, the head coach of the Dota 2 team, in preparation for The International 10 (TI10).

QQQ, one of the most storied Chinese Dota 2 coaches, has joined Vici Gaming as an assistant coach. Vici gaming announced this move via their Weibo account, stating that Yao "QQQ" Yi (also known as "357") has joined them as their assistant coach from 20th August 2021, on loan from EHOME. QQQ will now assist Lu "Fenrir" Chao, the head coach of the Dota 2 team, in preparation for The International 10 (TI10). Vici Gaming is currently competing in the i-League 2021 Season 2 that runs until 5th Sept, 2021.

QQQ joins Vici Gaming as an assistant coach

According to Vici Gaming, QQQ was hired following a detailed discussion with all parties, including EHOME. The Chinese coach had been guiding EHOME since February 2021, but the team was placed on an inactive status last month when it failed to qualify for TI10. Most members of EHOME are still inactive, except QQQ, who has now been loaned to Vici Gaming.

This is not the first time QQQ has partnered with Vici Gaming. His coaching career with the team goes back to intervals in 2014-16, which included reaching the second place at TI4.

QQQ, who is 35 years old, has had numerous successful stints with other Chinese teams as well. He was the coach of the legendary PSG.LGD team that placed second at TI8 and third at TI9 in addition to winning other prestigious tournaments. As a player, he played at TI1, TI2, and TI3, but then changed careers and became a coach.

Vici Gaming has won a number of Major Championships and other premier events in the past decade, but none of them have been TI titles. Now, the organization is under the tutelage of two of the most experienced individuals in the Chinese competitive scene. As a team that has had good success over the last six months and will now be coached by two experienced pros, Vici Gaming has a good chance of winning the Aegis of the Champions at TI10. titles. In 2020, he also served Team Aster briefly.

The team is expected to travel to Romania to prepare for TI10 after i-League 2021 Season 2 concludes. TI10 will be held from 7th-17th October, 2021, in Bucharest, Romania.
