EHOME's Dota 2 roster has been placed inactive and will not take part in any upcoming events, the organization announced via its Weibo account. Jian Wei "xNova" Yap, the team’s position five player, meanwhile, left the team after his contract expired with the organization. EHOME's remaining four players, who participated in The International 10 (TI10) China's qualifier, will now take a break from competitive Dota 2 and spend time with their families. The roster move comes after EHOME failed to qualify for TI10 after losing 3-1 to Elephant in the grand final of the China qualifier.

EHOME takes a competitive break from Dota 2; position five player, xNova, departs

In its statement, EHOME said it had put the roster into inactive status following the wishes of the players and their individual development needs. In the next TI season, the team will return to competitive action.

“We would like to have this time to recharge and adjust for the next TI season. A lot has happened over the past season and the club and players have faced and overcome many obstacles together. We want to use this time to allow everyone to rest fully, spend time with family and friends, and get ourselves in better shape for the battles ahead.”

EHOME said it would keep updating fans on TI10, Dota 2, and its players, while also thanking them for their support.

With xNova departing from the squad, the team’s roster that competed in TI10’s China qualifier and is now active is as follows:

  1. Liu "Sylar" Jiajun

  2. Guo "Xm" Hongcheng

  3. Yang "Chalice"' Shenyi

  4. Pan "Fade" Yi

  5. TBD

A number of other players are also listed on EHOME's inactive roster, but they haven't played for the team for quite a while.

During the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) 2021, EHOME faced fierce competition from the other Chinese teams. Midway through the first season, the team made the decision to bring in Sylar to replace Lai "AhJit" Jay Son. Even though EHOME's performance initially improved, it wasn't enough to secure slots at either of the two majors.

EHOME then had a chance to make it to TI10 through the China qualifier but could not muster enough strength to beat Elephant in the grand final.

EHOME and xNova part ways

Additionally, xNova departs from the team after 10 months. During the mega Chinese roster shuffle in the latter half of 2020, he left PSG.LGD for EHOME. His status is now free agent, so he can join any new team any time soon.
