Tundra Esports spotted with Tobi as the new offlaner for DreamLeague Season 23.
Tobi last played for PSG Quest and has been out of the pro scene more than a few months
Tobi's place in the team could be temporary as no word has been given by the organization

Tundra Esports has been left without an offlane player since Ivan “MinD_ContRoL” Ivanov’s dramatic exit from Tundra Esports on 26th February 2024, Monday during DreamLeague Season 22.

Interestingly, almost a month since the incident Tundra Esports has still not announced a new offlaner. However, it was recently spotted that Tobias "Tobi" Buchner was added to the team as a Position 3 player for the upcoming DreamLeague Season 23 Western European Closed Qualifiers.

Tobi last played for PSG Quest but was with Entity for more than three years before that. During his earlier stinct, he secured a few tournament wins with the organization. However, Tobi has been out of the pro scene since October 2023 and it will be interesting to see how he fits into Tundra’s roster.

Tundra Esports to Play With Tobi as Offlaner for DreamLeague Season 23 Western European Closed Qualifiers

DreamLeague Season 23 is one of the major tournaments in the Dota 2 event calendar before Riyadh Masters which will take place as part of the Esports World Cup.

All the Dota 2 teams are gearing up for the upcoming qualifiers to secure a spot in the main tournament which is scheduled to take place in May 2024.

Due to the importance of this tournament in the event calendar, Tundra Esports has brought in former PSG Quest player, Tobi as its Position 3 for the qualifiers, as suggested by the team's roster for DreamLeague Season 23 Western European Closed Qualifier on Liquipedia.

Although Tundra has not officially announced Tobi as the new offlaner for the team, it is highly possible that these qualifiers could serve as a trial for the player.

The Western European Qualifiers for DreamLeague Season 23 are set to begin tomorrow, 22nd March 2024 and Tundra will be going against the 1win Series Dota 2 Spring champions, Entity.

This match-up might serve as a test of Tobi’s synergy with the rest of his teammates and give Tundra a benchmark of his potential as the new offlaner.

Judging by the current trend of introducing a player as a stand-in and adopting the player if the results are in favor and satisfactory, Tundra Esports may adopt Tobi as the new offlaner going forward into the 2024 competitive season.

Due to Tobi’s considerable time with Entity, he might have a strong grasp on the team’s inner workings and strategies that could be used to levy against them in the opening match of the qualifiers.

However, Tundra Esports has not made any official statement regarding Tobi’s position with the team and it is possible that he could be swapped out for another offlaner like Tundra did in DreamLeague Season 22 in the wake of MinD_ContRoL’s abrupt kick from the team and bringing in Vladislav "laise" Lais and Ilyas "kasane" Gainullin as substitute offlaners.
