Team Liquid’s coach, William "Blitz" Lee recently spoke about roster changes within the team in a recent podcast with Austin "Cap" Walsh.
Blitz pointed out that the addition of Lasse "MATUMBAMAN" Urpalainen prior to his retirement was unexpected, as the player was not on Blitz’s radar at the start of the season.
He also pointed out that Team Liquid was the only organization that made an inquiry about its newest mid laner, Michał "Nisha" Jankowski during the off-season.

Team Liquid coach William "Blitz" Lee recently spoke to caster Austin "Cap" Walsh on a podcast about the team's recent roster changes. While the duo mostly talked about roster changes that took place during the offseason, Cap asked his former co-caster about his team's recent roster changes over the recent competitive season.

Team Liquid only made one roster change during the offseason as it replaced the recently retired Lasse "MATUMBAMAN" Urpalainen with decorated mid-laner Michał "Nisha" Jankowski from Team Secret.

Blitz & Caps talk about Team Liquid’s recent roster changes

The duo of William "Blitz" Lee and Austin "Cap" Walsh recently talked about the recent roster changes that occurred during the offseason on their podcast. During the discussions about the roster changes, Blitz gave some information regarding the roster changes that happened within Team Liquid during the recent competitive season.

The current coach of Team Liquid started off by talking about the roster changes that occurred during the beginning of the season, as the team recruited Lasse "MATUMBAMAN" Urpalainen &  Ludwig "zai" Wåhlberg to replace the departing Max "qojqva" Bröcker & Tommy “Taiga” Le. However, he pointed out that MATUMBAMAN’s addition to the roster was unexpected as the player was not on Blitz’s radar for consideration at the beginning of the season.

“Last year’s roster was a bit more specific, because I’ve known Zai for a long time now and I don’t know if people will believe me or not but the guy just likes changes. Nobody forced him to join our team. As for Matu [MATUMBAMAN], we weren’t even trying to approach Matu last year believe it or not. I mean, it was more of him asking us in a sense like it came out of nowhere and I was surprised at that.”

Blitz then pointed out that Team Liquid was the only organization that made an enquiry about Michał "Nisha" Jankowski, prior to his recruitment into the new roster, despite many believing that the Polish mid-laner will remain with Team Secret for the upcoming season.

“Not to put anybody on blast here, but we [Team Liquid] were like the only team that bothered enquiring about Nisha in Team Secret [during the offseason]. That in itself, is a competitive advantage in a sense as no one else is willing to try at all [after seeing Secret get 2nd place at TI11]. Like, you’re Nisha. You’re going to get any offer from organizations that want you realistically speaking.”

Aside from the recent addition of Nisha, the majority of Team Liquid's roster remained intact as it looks to make a statement in the upcoming season in the first division of the WEU DPC 2022-23.
