Having won its first series in the group stage of the BTS Pro Series Season 7: Southeast Asia (SEA), T1 is beginning to find its groove. In arguably the most difficult matchup of the tournament, T1 looked settled in every aspect as it cruised to a 2-0 series win over Fnatic. Carlo "Kuku" Palad was the team's standout player in this contest. After a couple of poor showings, he showed up big on Timbersaw and Axe in the offlane. With this BO2 series win, T1 has moved up to the middle of the pack in the points table of the BTS Pro Series S7: SEA's group stage.

T1 vs Fnatic: Match recap and highlights

Recap

Game one saw a clinical performance from T1 as they outperformed their opponents in all sectors. Though Fnatic desperately tried to find farms on their cores, T1 ran them over and took kill after kill. The final score was 28-9 in T1's favor, and they won in 38 minutes.

In game two, with the hero matchups, T1 had a slight inherent advantage. Having played their lanes to perfection, they built a large lead. Kuku farmed his offlane Axe like a madman, finishing the game with 430 last hits in 37 minutes and with a 10-2-5 KDA. Fnatic scored a few kills here and there, but they weren't able to deal enough damage to take down T1's entire lineup.

Highlights

Here are some highlights of the series.

After a couple of rough performances in the BTS Pro Series S7: SEA, many were expecting T1 to rebound. The team lost 2-0 to Galaxy Racer and then to Motivate.Trust Gaming, but drew 1-1 against Team SMG and Execration in the third and fourth series. Having won this series against Fnatic will likely boost the team's confidence. Additionally, during the last six months, T1 has often delivered its best performances towards the end of the leagues.

On the other hand, Fnatic, who dominated its first series versus Motivate.Trust Gaming, failed to live up to the expectations today. Fnatic and T1 are the two SEA representatives at The International (TI10), so it was expected to be a close series. Nevertheless, it is still early days for them, and considering their experience and talent, a turnaround could be on the cards.

Fnatic is currently playing Execration in its next series of the BTS Pro Series S7: SEA group stage, while T1 will compete on 7th Aug 2021 against Army Geniuses.
