OB.Neon is unstoppable in the BIX Invitationals Summer, as they have taken their third straight 2-0 victory to lead the points table. The Filipino squad easily defeated Team SMG in its third series, showing dominance throughout. Although SMG offered some resistance in both games, their drafts were a little experimental and they were outplayed by OB.Neon in the teamfights as well. TNC Predator's position four player, Timothy John "Tims" Randrup, has been playing as OB.Neon's stand-in for the last three days, and the team has not lost even a single match in three of their tournaments.

Recap

In game one, the cores of OB.Neon delivered a spectacular performance. The team emerged ahead in the laning stage and kept on building their lead, thanks to a high mobility draft consisting of an offlane Broodmother, a mid Storm Spirit, and a carry Nature's Prophet. Yopaj had an incredible KDA of 24-4-20 as OB.Neon won the game in 40 minutes.

In game two, while SMG drafted an unconventional safelane Pangolier for MidOne, they let OB.Neon draft Broodmother for Enryu, which proved problematic. SMG had a tri-core of Pangolier, Tiny, and Tidehunter, which called for them to focus more on fighting instead of farming. Eventually, their damage tapered off and they lost the game in 31 minutes.

Highlights

Here are some highlights of the series.

With the temporary role switch it has made, OB.Neon is looking quite strong. Skem is playing as a carry while Natsumi- is inactive and Tims is playing in his position four role as a stand-in. The safelane performances Skem has shown in OB.Neon's current tournaments - the PNXBET Invitationals Southeast Asia Season 2, the LPL Pro Dota 2 Winter Invitational, and the BIX Invitationals Summer - have been quite impressive. Skem had previously wowed audiences with his carry performance at the Singapore Major, leading OB.Neon to a 5th-6th place finish.

Today, SMG tried out a couple of heroes in their drafts, which seemingly didn't work out as well as they had hoped. They picked Pangolier as a safelane hero in the second game while they selected Spirit Breaker in the first - a hero that had been unpicked throughout the entire TI10 regional qualifiers.

Team SMG is currently playing its next series in the BIX Invitationals Summer against Moon Chasers, while OB.Neon will face Filipino rivals, Execration, on 17th July.
