Patch 7.35 saw the inclusion of new items including the Roshan's Banner.
Team Spirit Captain and 2 times TI Winner Miposhka shared his thoughts on the new item.
He compared the item to the likes of Heroes of the Storm and emphasized the potential of the new item.

In a recent stream with Andrei "Dread" Golubev, Team Spirit captain Yaroslav "Miposhka" Naydenov expressed his thoughts on one of the newest additions to Dota 2: Roshan's Banner. The professional gamer, who took a break after Team Spirit's victory at The International 2023, shared his perspective on this intriguing new item.

Roshan's Banner, introduced in the latest Dota 2 patch 7.35 on 15th December along with a barrage of changes, has become a topic of discussion in the gaming community. The item is a reward for slaying Roshan, and it drops on the Dire side after the second death of the formidable creature.

Miposhka Says Roshan’s Banner Is an Interesting Addition

Roshan’s Banner, once activated, allows players to place the banner anywhere on the map for five minutes. Within a 750-radius, any lane creep that passes by receives a notable 75% extra health and 50% extra damage for 45 seconds. The banner lasts for five minutes after its use.

During the stream, Miposhka addressed the potential impact of Roshan's Banner on gameplay. The transcript from his stream was shared on the Legend WP Dota 2 Telegram channel and was translated using Deepl.

While Miposhka admitted he hadn't witnessed the banner in action. However, he drew a parallel to Heroes of the Storm, where fulfilling specific conditions results in an unrealistically strengthened army. In Dota 2, the effects are less extreme, lasting for a brief period after a five-minute cooldown.

Miposhka emphasized the strategic potential of Roshan's Banner, especially when a team is dominating. He opined that placing the banner in a secure position allows for heavily buffed creeps almost reaching the enemy base, creating opportunities for aggressive plays and pressuring opponents.

He said, “You always put it [Roshan’s Banner] in a safe position when you're dominating, you're going to have creeps buffed almost under the base.

The tactical element comes into play as the banner is destructible, requiring players to defend it against enemy attacks. Six hero hits or 24 creep attacks can destroy the banner, adding an extra layer of decision-making for enemy teams.

Miposhka found Roshan's Banner to be a compelling addition to the game, introducing a unique dynamic that can significantly impact strategies and team interactions. He added, “That's it. You can put pressure on the enemies very hard. Anyway, it's a really interesting topic.
