Execration announced its new carry Krish "Krish" Gupta from India.
With Krish joining Execration, the team now has six active members on the roster.

In a surprising turn of events, Execration announced the signing of Indian pro Krish "Krish" Gupta as the latest member of its Dota 2 roster. Krish last played for Myth Avenue Gaming in 2023 as its solo mid-laner. Krish’s preferred role of choice is the solo mid-lane but to fit the roster of Execration, he’s shifted to the carry role. Notably, the roster now has six active members and Krish will likely be replacing the current carry Jinn Marrey "Palos" Lamatao on the roster.

Execration Signs Krish As Its New Carry

On 26th January, Execration tweeted, “Welcome to the team! KRISH!,” officially welcoming the Indian player to the team.

The team now features the following players:

  • Krish "Krish" Gupta

  • Mark Anthony "Bob" A Urbina

  • Justine Ryan "Tino" Evangelista Grimaldo

  • Mark "Shanks" Jubert Redira

  • Bryle "cml" Jacob Alvizo

  • Jinn "Palos" Marrey P Lamatao

Krish left his previous team Myth Avenue Gaming after failing to qualify for The International (TI) 2023. The team notably secured only a disappointing 9th-12th position during the TI qualifiers. Krish also represented India in the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 but found no success in the competition. India secured a 12th-15th position in the event and was knocked out during the group stage after failing to win a single match.

Krish also played at the recent Asia Pacific Predator League 2024 as a member of the team Whoops! During this tournament, Whoops! struggled to find its footing and could not secure even a single win. It had a disappointing 9th-10th finish.

In his time as a Dota 2 pro, Krish has mostly played in the Tier 3 scene. He has been part of some well-known teams such as Entity, TNC Predator, IHC Esports, and Myth Avenue Gaming. His last recorded tournament win was in 2022 with TNC Predator. The team won the Moon Studio September Mood 2022, a tier 3 tournament that had a modest prize pool of $15,000 USD.

Krish has yet to find success in the Dota 2 esports landscape. However, he will look forward to creating a name for himself now that he has signed with Execration. Krish will now have the opportunity to play in the tier 1 and tier 2 scenes and this could eventually turn his luck around in Dota 2 esports.

Execration fans and Dota 2 enthusiasts will surely keep a keen eye on Krish to see how he copes with such a high level of competition. Currently, Execration is playing at the ESL One Birmingham SEA closed qualifiers. Execration played with Krish as its carry in the qualifiers where it was knocked down to the lower bracket by Bleed Esports after losing 0-2 in the series. Execration will face elimination should it lose against Aurora in the lower bracket.
