Heroic, a renowned name in the competitive Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) scene, set foot into the Dota 2 world a few months back as part of its expansion to other esports titles. It announced its Dota 2 roster on 4th December and it will be playing in the South American region.
Heroic Dota 2 features players from TI (The International) qualified teams like nouns, beastcoast, and Keyd Stars. Interestingly, the roster also features Cedric "Davai Lama'' Deckmyn, a German player, who last played for D2 Hustlers. Shedding guidance over this roster is coach Igor “kaffs” Furtado.
The Norwegian organization first made the historic announcement through its official website in September 2023, unveiling its ambitious plans to compete in Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, and Fortnite esports.
In a post entitled “A New Era of Heroic” Heroic announced, “As we turn the page on CS: GO, we start an exciting new chapter in Heroic’s history with Counter-Strike 2 and the expansion of the Heroic brand into new esports titles.”
Heroic’s Entry To Dota 2 With South American Roster
On 4th January 2024, Heroic finally announced its Dota 2 roster which shall compete in the South American league. With four players who played at The International 12 and one of the best top offlaners in the European leaderboards, Davai Lama, the Heroic lineup is looking mighty.
Former nouns player Héctor "K1" Rodríguez will be the new carry for Heroic while former Keyd Stars member João "4nalog" Giannini will be playing as the mid. Elvis "Scofield" Peña and Matheus "KJ" Diniz will be backing the team as position four and five, respectively.

Heroic’s Manager, Vitória “Guashineen” Otero took to X to announce her excitement about this new team and noted that the team will be playing its first tournament in the ESL tournament [DreamLeague Season 22] Qualifiers and the BetBoom Dacha 2024 closed qualifiers.
She wrote, “Hello, it's me again guys! RAAAAHHH IM SO HAPPY!! Excited with this project and with what we are building. Thank you very much @heroicgg for this opportunity, we are gonna rock together! Our first tournaments will be the opens for EFG's [ESL] and closed [qualifiers] of BetBoom Dacha.”
This post from the manager confirmed that Heroic will be debuting at the BetBoom Dacha 2024 closed qualifiers which is set to take place on 7th January. The team will also participate in the DreamLeague Season 22 Qualifiers which is scheduled to take place on the 9th January.
