Dota 2 teams from around the world have spent the past month, after The International 12 (TI12), restructuring and warming up, and ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 will be their first major test. 12 of the world's best teams will compete in the tournament, which takes place from 11th to 17th Dec 2023. A total of three teams were invited directly, while the remaining nine made their way through the qualifiers. Prize money totaling $1,000,000 USD will be at stake. The tournament has invited a total of 12 teams, which have been divided into two groups of six.

  • Single round robin group stage

  • Two groups of six teams each

  • All series are Bo2s

  • The top two teams from each group advance to the upper bracket of the playoffs

  • The third and fourth place teams from each group advance to the lower bracket of the playoffs

  • The bottom two teams from each group are eliminated

  • All series are Bo3s, except for the grand final

Prize pool distribution

Based on final positions, the $1,000,000 will be divided among the 12 teams as follows.

  • 1st - $300,000 (4,800 EPT Points)

  • 2nd - $175,000 (3,600 EPT Points)

  • 3rd - $120,000 (3,000 EPT Points)

  • 4th - $85,000 (2,400 EPT Points)

  • 5th-6th - $57,500 (1,680 EPT Points)

  • 7th-8th - $47,500 (780 EPT Points)

  • 9th-10th - $30,000 (420 EPT Points)

  • 11th-12th - $25,000 (210 EPT Points)

Where to watch

In the group stage, three series will be running concurrently, so ESL One Kuala Lumpur will be broadcast simultaneously on three channels.

The ESL One Kuala Lumpur, which is vital for getting a head start in the ESL Pro Tour (EPT), will tell which team emerges as the winner from the recent month of roster changes. Except for Gaimin and BetBoom, all of the other teams have changed.
