The initial phase of the ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 journey has drawn to a close with the conclusion of the first open qualifiers. A thrilling spectacle unfolded as teams from various regions battled it out for supremacy, vying for the coveted opportunity to advance to the closed qualifiers, scheduled to take place from 16th November to 18th November 2023. Notably, each region in Dota 2 esports hosted their own open qualifiers.

Among the notable participants were seasoned veterans including Clinton "Fear" Loomis with Fart Studios in the North American (NA) region and Danil "Dendi" Ishutin with his team B8 Esports in the Western European (WEU) region, who tested their mettle in the first qualifier. However, the road to the next stage became more challenging for some. Notably Team Secret, who, despite its presence, was unable to secure a spot in the closed qualifiers, fell victim at the hands of Alliance.

In the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Qualifiers for ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023, three teams managed to secure advancement without even playing a single game. The lone contest in this region unfolded between Winter Bear and DuClowns, with Winter Bear emerging triumphant, earning its place in the next round.

Meanwhile, in the Chinese (CN) region, the newly formed roster of Invictus Gaming faced a setback, tasting defeat at the hands of Go along.

Lastly, in the Southeast Asia (SEA) Region, three teams successfully punched their tickets to the upcoming rounds. Notably, the newly formed Team 747 displayed prowess by winning two rounds but faced elimination after losing to the formidable Mongolian organization, IHC Esports.

Here’s all you need to know about the teams that made their way into the ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 Closed Qualifier.
