Dota 2 Crownfall Update Has Finally Released: Everything You Need to Know

It is official! Crownfall Update is finally here! Released on 19^th April 2024, the highly anticipated release by Valve is based on the lore of Vengeful Spirit and Skywrath Mage’s love story, as foreshadowed by a comic released earlier today.

Dota 2 Crownfall Update features new arcanas for Skywrath Mage and Vengeful Spirit, coupled with two brand new treasures, and a live multi-month story event through which players can earn various rewards as they complete various missions.

Currently in Act 1, the story adventure will have four acts in total and it is available to play for free.

However, the update did not see the release of a new hero, The Ringmaster, nor were any changes made to Dota 2’s current map and meta.

Dota 2 Crownfall Update: Complete Details

Dota 2 Crownfall Update is officially out and it is based on the lore of Skywrath Mage and Vengeful Spirit, narrating a tale of betrayal, love, and revenge.

First announced in February 2024, the Crownfall Update had its fair share of speculations and rumors about what it may contain. While Data Miners had already confirmed that Skywrath Mage and Vengeful Spirit were going to get arcanas, they did not tell us how cool it would be!

Dota 2 Crownfall Update: Two New Arcanas

Skywrath Mage and Vengeful Spirit, the two love birds of Dota 2 received arcanas with an exclusive unlockable style for Skywrath Mage and two unlockable styles for Vengeful Spirit.

Skywrath’s Arcana called The Devotion of Dragonus, has an unlockable style called the Sovereigns of Skywrath. The style can be unlocked by completing the main mission of the ongoing event story’s Act IV. 

Vengeful Spirit on the other hand was gifted with two unlockable styles for her Arcana called The Resurrection of Shen. The first unlockable style is called Servants of Scree’Auk and it can be unlocked by completing the main quest of Act IV. 

The second unlockable style called Queen Imperia is much more exclusive and harder to get. Requiring completion of all main quests and side quests of the four acts, this style would require a lot of time to unlock.

Dota 2 Crownfall Update: Story Event

The story event follows the story of Skywrath Mage and Vengeful Spirit after they set out for Midgate, it is a continuation of the comic released earlier.

You can progress further in the story by collecting the required tokens, a total of 19 tokens are required to complete the first act. These tokens can be earned by playing with a specific hero. For example, to earn a jumping token, players would need to win with a hero that jumps like Monkey King.

Additionally, with each completed mission of the event, players can earn up to five types of different rewards. These rewards include:

4. Gifts

5. Arcana Style Unlock

The Crownfall Update saw the release of two new Treasures. The Crownfall Treasure I features thirteen new items with two Rare sets, one Very Rare, one Ultra Rare, and one Cosmically Rare item.

The Crownfall Royal Bundle offers a convenient way to acquire various rewards together.

• 20 MMR Double Down Tokens

The Candyworks Caravan Candy Sacks allow you to trade for hero sets, couriers, wards, Arcanas, and other rewards. 

Candyworks Candy Rerolls provide additional chances to reroll if you're not satisfied with the hero sets and cosmetics available in the Candyworks Caravan. 

MMR Double Down Tokens enable you to double down on your potential MMR gain or loss by using the token before a ranked game starts.

Dota 2 Crownfall Update: Midgate Pathfinder Pack

The Midgate Pathfinder Pack is also available during Act I of the Crownfall Event for more map exploration, stories, and rewards. Available for purchase at $14.99 USD, this pack contains two tokens that unlock two side quests, upon completion, you will be immediately rewarded with Crownfall Treasures and Immortal items.
