Chalice’s time with EHOME comes to an end

On Valve's Majors Registration Page, three members are registered to EHOME's Dota 2 roster following Chalice's departure.

  • Liu "Sylar" Jiajun (Carry)

  • Guo "Xm" Hongcheng (Midlaner)

  • Pan "Fade" Yi (Soft Support)

There are other players on EHOME’s inactive Dota 2 list as well but these players have either been loaned to other teams or have not played for the team in a long time.

For Chalice, his time with the Chinese team lasted one year. He joined EHOME in September 2020 during the Mega Chinese roster shuffle following a successful career with PSG.LGD, which included a second place finish at The International 8 (TI8) and a third place finish at TI9.

Even though EHOME had competitive results leading up to Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) 2021, it was only able to muster a sixth place finish in the first season of the DPC. It was the same story for Chalice and co in the second season, where they finished sixth and once again did not qualify for the Major. Then, the only way they could qualify for Dota 2's biggest stage - TI10 was through the Chinese qualifiers. EHOME performed well, but not well enough to defeat Elephant in the grand final of the qualifier for the last remaining TI10 slot.

The organization then placed its Dota 2 roster to an inactive status while xNova left. EHOME will only return to competitive action in the next TI season, giving this time to the players to relax and spend time with their families.

Meanwhile, while xNova is a confirmed free agent, it is expected that Chalice will follow suit once the team announces his departure officially. When TI10 nears its conclusion and information about DPC 2022 emerges, it is likely that both of these veterans of the Chinese scene will join new teams.
