BOOM Esports drop all of its games on Day 2 of the Arlington Dota 2 Major.
The team lost its two series on Day 2 against beastcoast and Entity

Day 2 of the Arlington Major did not prove to be too kind to BOOM Esports. Southeast Asia’s strongest team in the Dota 2 Pro Circuit 2021/22 (DPC 2021/22) started off the day with 1-1-0 Win-Draw-Loss record and ended with a 1-0-2 record. BOOM Esports suffered two back-to-back losses against beastcoast and Entity Gaming which has pushed it towards the bottom of the table and in danger of elimination from the Arlington Major 2022.

BOOM Esports has a horrid day at the office at Arlington

BOOM Esports came into Day 2 with plenty of momentum behind its back, having taken down NA DPC titans Evil Geniuses 2-0 and having tied up its series against Tundra Esports on Day 1. The team was expected to easily overcome bottom of the table beastcoast in its first match of the day.

But things did not go according to plan. The Southeast Asian team got demolished by beastcoast, and simply failing to match the aggression and rotations that beastcoast showcased. BOOM Esports were overrun by Héctor "K1" Rodríguez’s overfarmed Chaos Knight in Game 1 and Adrián "Wisper" Dobles’ Puck in Game 2, and conceded the series 0-2 without landing too much of a blow.

The day would not have been a total wash if BOOM managed to turn things around against Entity in its second series of the day. Seeking familiarity, it turned to Erin "Yopaj" Ferrer’s signature Ember Spirit for the first game of the series.

Yopaj did get off to a hot start, finding multiple across the map. But a few costly mistakes from him allowed a chance for Entity to completely take over the game with its earlier timing and let it secure the win in Game 1. Game 2 was a lot closer with back-and-forth fights, but Entity held on to its nerve better than BOOM Esports to close out the series and take the 2-0 victory.

While an 0-4 day is certainly disappointing for BOOM, it still has enough time to recover and make its way into the upper brackets. Its next two matches against Na’Vi and Team Spirit on Day 3 of the Arlington Major is going to be crucial. If it manages to secure multiple wins, it will still have a decent shot of making it to the upper brackets of the Major.

Otherwise, it may have to face the possibility of elimination.
