LAN action is returning to North America after a long time with the third and final Dota 2 Major of the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) 2021-22 - the PGL Arlington Major. From 4th to 14th August, 17 teams will compete in the Major (Xtreme Gaming withdrew), with the playoffs being broadcast live from the Esports Stadium Arlington in front of a live audience. There will be a total prize pool of $500,000 USD up for grabs, as well as the all-important 4570 DPC points. Xtreme Gaming (China) withdrew from the event on 27th July after its carry player Lou "lou" Zhen was denied a visa to the United States (US) for the third time.

Group stage (4th - 8th August)

  • Single round robin group stage

  • Two groups of nine teams each (Group B will have eight teams since Xtreme Gaming withdrew)

  • All series are Bo2

  • The top four teams in each group move to the upper bracket of the playoffs.

  • The fifth and sixth place teams in each group move to the lower bracket of the playoffs.

  • The remaining teams in each group are eliminated.

  • All series are Bo3 except for the grand final

  • Bo5 grand final

The official English broadcast talent of the PGL Arlington Major was announced on 22nd July.

As the final tournament of the DPC 2021-22, the PGL Arlington Major will be the last opportunity for teams to accumulate DPC points. A total of four teams - Thunder Awaken, PSG.LGD, OG, and TSM - have mathematically received a direct invite for The International 11 (TI11), so the remaining eight teams will be determined following the conclusion of the event.
