With a dominating 2-0 victory over the Southeast Asian powerhouse squad of Fnatic, BOOM Esports continues its impressive run. There was a lot of hype and excitement surrounding this Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) Southeast Asia (SEA) 2021-22 Tour 1: Division matchup between the two star-studded rosters but BOOM Esports stood out in every aspect of the game. Fnatic held its ground well in the late stages of the second game, but the series was characterized by BOOM Esports' incredible teamwork and individual skill.

BOOM Esports vs Fnatic: Match Recap and Highlights

Recap

In game 1, Fnatic picked a Raven's Medusa-led draft featuring an offlane Legion Commander and support Abaddon, while BOOM Esports went for the Morphling-Dark Willow combo. Despite being outplayed in the midlane by Armel's Monkey King, Yopaj's Ember Spirit closed the gap with some excellent rotations and help from supports. Although the cores were all moving steadily, it was BOOM Esports' flawless execution in a couple of teamfights that helped them win the game in just 26 minutes.

In game 2, BOOM Esports went with some of its signature heroes, including Tino's Templar Assassin, Yopaj's Puck, and Fbz's Brewmaster. Meanwhile, Fnatic put emphasis on Raven once again as he was drafted as Phantom Assassin with an offlane Magnus to buff him. Yopaj outperformed Armel in the midlane this time, and then he made some excellent moves to find kills. Fnatic's best option to come back into the game was a high ground defense and although it succeeded a couple of times, it proved too difficult in the end to make a comeback, resulting in a loss at 50 minutes.

Highlights

Here are some highlights of the series.

This series against Fnatic was expected to be BOOM Esports’ first top test after beating a number of SEA teams in the tournaments that led up to the DPC 2021-22. BOOM Esports handled the challenge with ease. As much as Erin Jasper "Yopaj" Ferrer, the team's midlaner, stole the show with his game two Puck yet again, much of the credit also goes to the other four players, who all showcased superiority in comparison to their counterparts.

Meanwhile, Fnatic has lost two of its three series so far, and the revamped roster has not yet clicked. It's going to be a challenging road ahead for the team with some tough series left and only three slots allocated for the Major.

BOOM Esports’ next series will be against Team SMG on 15th Dec 2021 while Fnatic plays OB.Neon on 16th Dec 2021.
