There are a number of Dota 2 figures and organizations on the final nomination list for the numerous titles being awarded at the Esports Awards 2022. Ammar "ATF" Al-Assaf, OG's explosive offlaner, is competing against prodigies from other esports titles for the ‘Esports PC Rookie of the Year.’ Meanwhile, PSG.LGD’s Zhang "Faith_bian" Ruida, who announced he would retire after The International (TI11), has been nominated for the 'Esports PC Player of the Year' award. Additionally, Dota 2 broadcast talent members and PSG.LGD's coach Zhang "xiao8" Ning are also among the final nominees in their respective categories.

Several Dota 2 personalities are among the Esports Awards Pro & On-Air Talent finalists

In a livestream event on 27th October, the Esports Awards Pro & On-Air Talent finalists were announced to the esports audience. During this live stream of the finalists' announcement, Dota 2 personalities Jake "SirActionSlacks" Kanner and Johan "N0tail" Sundstein appeared and named the top performers.

Among all the Dota 2 nominations, ATF is a welcome addition after a year that saw him gain popularity and demonstrate his skills. Initially, the player was a pubstar, and the Dota 2 community was less acquainted with him.

However, roughly a year later, the player has emerged as a unique offlaner who plays with a ton of aggression and is capable of winning games by himself.

This year, Faith_bian represents Dota 2 in the category of the best PC player of the year. As with the rest of his career, he seemed very comfortable in the offlane position in 2022 and achieved impressive results for PSG.LGD.

Unfortunately, in his final year as a competitive Dota 2 player, he was unable to obtain a second TI title, as PSG.LGD was eliminated from TI11 in 5th-6th place despite entering the event as the favorite.

Last year, Faith_bian's teammate Wang "Ame" Chunyu was nominated for the award but lost to NAVI's prolific CS:GO player Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev. This time, the competition is just as fierce, with s1mple and top players from other esports titles being nominated.
