Filipino Dota 2 Pros Remember Heinrich While at the WePlay AniMajor

The Filipino Dota 2 players competing at the WePlay AniMajor shared their thoughts about the demise of former Cebuano Dota 2 player, Heinrich "Heinrich" Abad. As shown in a video posted by WePlay Esports on Twitter, several players from Execration, T1, and TNC Predator talked about Heinrich and expressed their grief over his death. Players like Don Carlo "BDz" Manalo,  Yuri Dave "Yowe" Pacaña, and Marvin "Boomy" Rushton who had interacted with Heinrich in the past took a trip down memory lane, recalling their experiences with him. Heinrich, a retired Dota 2 player widely known for becoming the first Filipino to reach the top of SEA MMR leaderboards, passed away aged 29 on 6 June 2021.

Filipino Players react to former Dota 2 player, Heinrich’s Demise

Heinrich was a former Dota 2 professional who had hung his boots back in 2016 to focus on his studies and family. On 12 May, 2021, he was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), and he passed away recently.

WePlay Esports spoke with the Filipino Dota 2 players that are a part of the AniMajor to talk about their feelings about Heinrich's death. Their translated comments are as below.

BDz

Execration’s position four player, Don Carlo "BDz" Manalo, offered condolences to Heinrich’s family while stating that they missed him very much. In his native language (Tagalog), he went on to say,

"I know, before, we were companions, you were a very fun person. Thanks for the talks, see you on the other side."

Yowe

Yuri Dave "Yowe" Pacaña, mid laner for Execration, spoke about Heinrich's role in his Dota 2 career. (Bisaya)

"Condolence to your family, you were one of the pro players who motivated me during Mineski tournaments. You are a big part of my image, rest in peace."

Nikko

Execration’s offlaner, Nikko "Nikko" Bilocura, was shocked by the untimely demise of the retired professional player. Nikko also said that he aspires to be like Heinrich since the latter was also a core player.

RR

Execration’s position five player, Ralph Richard "RR" Peñano, also extended condolences to Heinrich’s family, noting that he would be in touch with them. (Bisaya)

Bok and Boomy

Jun "Bok" Kanehara and Marvin "Boomy" Rushton are two of the few players that are still competing who played with Heinrich in Arcanys Gaming.

Bok, on behalf of TNC Predator and the Filipino esports’ community, offered his deepest condolences to Heinrich’s family. Boomy also reminisced about the past while wishing Heinrich a peaceful rest. (Bisaya)

Kuku

T1’s captain, Carlo "Kuku" Palad, mentioned that it was a sad moment for the Cebuano community while mentioning that Heinrich was one of the best Dota 2 players of his era. Kuku also hoped Heinrich's family would be able to cope with his departure.
