Heinrich’s partner had posted an update on his condition and opened a fundraiser to help them through this difficult situation on May 28, 2021. The post talked about the current condition, the costs of the tests, and the subsequent need for money to support his partner and his five-year-old son.

Heinrich's partner, in a few days' time, posted two updates thanking all who had contributed financially and asked people to pray for Heinrich.

On early June 6, 2021, Bev wrote that Heinrich, her partner, had passed away. She also narrated a heartfelt conversation they shared during the early stages of the disease and another that took place just before Heinrich's last moments.

Who was Heinrich Dota?

Heinrich was a professional Dota 2 player who had retired from the competitive scene in 2015-16. He was renowned for becoming the first Filipino Dota 2 player to reach rank 1 in SEA MMR leaderboards. His most prominent team in the competitive journey was Arcanys Gaming. During this time, he played with players like TNC Boombacs (Boomy) and Bok, and former Sterling Global Dragons’ player, jobeeEZy.

Heinrich will be remembered as one of the best Filipino midlaners of his era and for being the first-ever to put Filipino Dota 2 on top of the SEA Dota 2 Leaderboards. In many ways, he is an inspiration for many Filipino Dota 2 players who have attempted and successfully replicated his success in the leaderboards.

He is survived by his partner and a five-year-old son to whom we express our deepest condolences.
