  • Both Fnatic and Neon Esports have qualified for the ONE Esports Dota 2 Singapore Major 2021 after Fnatic's 2-1 win over TNC Predator
  • Neon Esports vs T1 will be the last series of the SEA DPC League that takes place on February 25. This series will likely determine the fate of TNC Predator, T1 and Neon Esports for the last remaining Major spot.
  • Team Secret, Alliance, Team Nigma, Virtus.pro, Natus Vincere, Fnatic and Neon Esports are now the confirmed teams for the Singapore Major.

Fnatic has just secured themselves a spot in the ONE Esports Dota 2 Singapore Major 2021 after defeating TNC Predator 2-1 in their last series. As a result of TNC’s loss, not only Fnatic but also Neon Esports have now qualified for the Singapore Major. The Major scheduled to take place from March 27 to April 4, 2021, in a LAN setting, has three slots for the SEA region. So, TNC Predator, T1, and BOOM Esports now remain in the hunt for the last remaining Major slot. A lot will be on the line tomorrow, on February 25, as Neon Esports will be facing off against T1 in the last series of the group stage.

While Fnatic was a prime contender for one of the Major slots, nobody expected Neon Esports to overpower teams like TNC Predator and BOOM Esports and be a part of this elite company. This is a significant breakthrough for the ‘Kings of SEA tier 2 circuit’ as they will be attending not only their first Major championship but also their first DPC tournament on LAN.

Fnatic is currently positioned at the number one spot in the points table of SEA DPC 2021 Season 1: Upper Division with six wins and just one loss that came against BOOM Esports. They have assured themselves a top-two finish after this win. Neon, on the other hand, is placed at the number two spot with five wins and one loss that came against Fnatic.

Possible qualification scenarios after Neon vs T1 series

If Neon wins against T1 tomorrow, there will be a first-place tiebreaker between Fnatic and Neon. The winner will go straight to the Major playoffs while the loser finishes in the second spot and goes to the Major group stage.

For the third-place and the Major wild card spot, TNC Predator, T1, and BOOM Esports will play a three-way tiebreaker. The winner goes to Singapore.

However, if Neon loses to T1 tomorrow, Fnatic will finish in the first position and go to Major playoffs. Neon and T1 will again face each other in a tiebreaker to determine who finishes second and third. Neon losing to T1 will mean that TNC Predator and BOOM Esports are out of Major contention.

Unarguably, the Neon vs T1 series promises to be an exhilarating one as three teams have their Major hopes on the line. For TNC Predator, they will be immensely disappointed if they do not make it to the Major, considering they had the top seed in the standings of the 2019-20 DPC season, which got suspended.
