OGA Dota PIT Season 3: China is the second tournament after China Pro Cup S1 where we are witnessing the top Chinese teams battling out to justify themselves with their new squads. After winning the China Dota 2 Pro Cup S1 comprehensively, PSG.LGD has now topped the group A winning all of their 3 series. While in group B as well, Team Aster secured the top spot after it stayed undefeated throughout the Group Stages.

PSG.LGD Stand Strong in Group A

PSG.LGD was placed into group A which contained teams like Vici Gaming, Royal Never Give Up (RNG) and Sparking Arrow Gaming. After a spectacular and dominating showing at the China Dota 2 Pro Cup S1, PSG.LGD was considered to be the favourites of this group. The inevitable happened with PSG.LGD securing the first place of the groups though they dropped a match each versus Vici Gaming and RNG. Vici Gaming was the second-best team in the group as they crushed RNG 2-0 in mere 45 minutes and also took the series off Sparking Arrow Gaming 2-0.

Though RNG were the group stage table-toppers in the previous tournament, they could not exhibit similar performances against stronger teams like Vici Gaming and PSG.LGD. They won a solitary series against Sparking Arrow Gaming which placed them at number 3 position knocking out the latter from the tournament. Sparking Arrow Gaming performed poorly at the China Pro Cup as well and they certainly need to make some adjustments to their strategy and gameplay in order to compete against these teams. The loss of Zhong "圣子华炼/GodKing" Liushuai to RNG and Ru "RedPanda" Zhihao to 4AM seems to have affected the team’s balance

Team Aster Beat The Odds In Group B

Runners-up at the China Pro Cup S1, EHOME, competed against Team Aster, Invictus Gaming and Team MagMa in the Group B. While EHOME was considered to be the strongest of all, Team Aster outplayed every team in the group to reach the top. They have looked very disciplined in their gameplay and have definitely worked on their weaknesses from the last tournament. EHOME looked decent in their 3 series, winning 2 out of them and found themselves at the 2nd position. They need to correct some small phases of the game, in order to compete against the best teams in the tournament. Team MagMa barely managed to keep their hopes alive in the tournament by winning a single series against Invictus Gaming. They will have to play extraordinarily well in the upcoming matches to have a chance against these strong teams. Invictus Gaming has looked very lacklustre recently and has been knocked out of the tournament.  They could just win one out of their seven matches and had a very dismal show at the China Pro Cup S1 as well. They were the runner ups at the DPL-CDA Professional League Season 2 held in July and will look to get their mojo back as they have been playing with the same roster for a long time.

PSG.LGD And Team Aster Are on Top At OGA Dota PIT S3: China

The tournament kickstarts its playoffs stages after a day’s break on October 7. Vici Gaming will face off against Team MagMa while Royal Never Give Up goes up against EHOME in the Upper Bracket R1. PSG.LGD were a ruthless force at the China Dota 2 Pro Cup, gobbling up every enemy that came their way in the playoffs. It will be interesting to see if they can manage a similar run in the playoffs of OGA Dota Pit S3: China as well.
