PSG.LGD Dominates the Chinese Region To Win the China Dota 2 Pro Cup S1

PSG.LGD emerged victorious at the China Dota 2 Pro Cup Season 1 as they defeated EHOME 3-0 in the Grand finals. PSG.LGD was an unstoppable force throughout the playoffs stage, clean sweeping every series they played. They take home a sum of $40,000 in the first LAN tournament since the onset of the pandemic.

This is yet another 3-0 victory by a team in the grand finals of the tournament after Motivate. Trust Gaming, Vikin.gg, and Team Secret accomplished it in the recently concluded tournaments. Certainly, teams are succumbing to the pressure and intensity of the finals. But for this tournament, PSG.LGD was already being touted to win the grand finals comprehensively owing to its spectacular form.

The Grand Finals- PSG.LGD Versus EHOME 

The grand finals was a rematch from the quarterfinals where PSG.LGD looked top-notch in their gameplay and took the series 2-0.

In Game 1, EHOME picked up the in meta Io-Sven combo with a Puck mid. PSG.LGD picked up Timbersaw and Riki as their last two picks completely countering the draft of their opponents. While Riki could get out of the cogs of EHOME’s offlane pick Clockwerk, he could also get to the backlines and kill the Io. Also, an incredible invisible hero to kite Sven. For Timbersaw, there seemed to be a lack of lethal damage until Sven was 4 or 5 slotted. The game gradually started falling into PSG.LGD’s favor as their heroes picked up a couple of initial items. Riki’s invisibility, Timbersaw’s elusiveness, support Tiny’s mobility with Blink Dagger and Zeus’s omnipresence with his Ultimate proved to be too much for EHOME as their heroes got picked off one after another. The last pick Puck mid was of no use as it got smoke screened by Riki into Nimbus by Zeus time and again. Sven managed to amass a lot of last hits but he could not inflict enough damage in the time of his BKB and PSG.LGD eventually closed out the game in 32 minutes.

In Game 2, PSG.LGD manifested their versatility in the draft by picking a support duo of Faceless Void and Visage and an offlane Snapfire. This unorthodox draft finished with a deadly combo of Magnus and Phantom Assassin. EHOME took Zeus as their mid while trying a cheese pick of Alchemist to finalize their draft. EHOME emerged out as the winner of the laning phase, though not by a huge margin as they had an Alchemist to boost up their networth lead. But PSG.LGD was again impeccable in the execution of their draft. Faceless Void zoned out some heroes in the Chronosphere where they got hit by Snapfire’s Ultimate while empowered Phantom Assassin and Magnus killed the rest of the heroes. EHOME had no answers to PSG.LGD’s strategy and tapped out of the game at the 32-minute mark.

A 2-0 lead brought PSG.LGD just one step away from lifting the trophy of the China Dota 2 Pro Cup Season 1. The story of Game 3 proved to be the same as others as PSG.LGD looked an altogether superior team in the draft as well as in-game. EHOME picked some in meta heroes for the third game in the form of Doom, Ember Spirit, and Faceless Void. PSG.LGD had their draft set to counter any sort of aggression and respond with a lot of damage. They convincingly won the laning phase as Ame on his Monkey King farmed like a madman with the help of Empower from Magnus. PSG.LGD pushed their advantage eventually and closed out this game as well around the 34-minute mark. With this, they stomped EHOME in all the 3 games and won the finals comprehensively

PSG.LGD has undoubtedly emerged to be the strongest and the most synchronized teams of all in the tournament who had been impacted by the Mega Chinese Roster Shuffle. They have looked clear in their mindset and with the versatility their players have exhibited, the team is on its way to restoring the pristine glory of the PSG.LGD organization. It will be interesting to see how this team pans out against the star-studded roster of 4AM who are expected to make their debut in the upcoming Chinese tournaments.

PSG.LGD is competing in the ongoing OGA Dota PIT Season 3: China with a lot of similar teams from this tournament. Currently, they are undefeated in a series and top their table. Their next matchup will be against Royal Never Give Up on October 5.
