The fifth iteration of the Esports Awards has finally revealed the nominations in various industry categories that include Creative, Pro, On-Air Talent and the Community. Dota 2’s talent and players have made it to the finals in the professional and on-air talent categories with Team Secret taking the spotlight.
Team Secret Represent Dota 2 at the Esports Awards 2020
Team Secret is representing Dota 2 in three categories at the Esports Awards 2020 which are:
- Esports Team of the Year
- Esports Coach of the Year: Heen
- Esports PC Player of the Year: Nisha, Matumbaman
Team Secret has been indomitable for the last 6 months as they have won every single tournament they have played. They recently secured their eighth consecutive 3-0 grand finals tournament win at the OGA Dota PIT Season 3: Europe/CIS. So, their nomination at the Esports Awards 2020 is no surprise to any Dota 2 fan.

While the whole team has looked spectacular throughout this prosperous phase, Lasse Aukusti "MATUMBAMAN" Urpalainen and Michał "Nisha" Jankowski have been nominated for the best Esports PC player of the Year. Nisha is one of the best and most versatile mid players in the pro Dota 2 scene right now and a big reason why Team Secret never loses the laning phase. MATUMBAMAN has evolved into a master tier carry player with Team Secret and looks like he has been able to explore his real potential and gameplay with this team.
Caster and Host Nominations For Dota 2 Talent
Dota 2 casters and analysts have also found themselves in the finals of the awards. Owen "ODPixel" Davies, known for this energetic casting, has been nominated for the Esports Caster Of The Year (Play By Play). His general partner while casting Ioannis "Fogged" Loucas, who is also a great analyst, has made it to the finals of two awards, Esports Analyst Of The Year and Esports Caster Of The Year (Colour). The caster duo of ODPixel and Fogged is one of the most enjoyed by the Dota 2 fans.
Another veteran of the Dota 2 on-air talent, host Jorien "Sheever" van der Heijden is the finalist of Esports Host Of The Year. She is one of the most loved personalities by the Dota 2 fraternity. Her comeback into the professional scene after a courageous battle with cancer also serves as an inspiration to many.

Dota 2 ,as a game, has been nominated in the Esports Game of the Year in association with Koyo. The Dota 2 International documentary series Truesight’s TI9 version has also made it to the finals in the Esports Creative Piece of the Year.
