S1mple Shares His Quarantine Experience at IEM Cologne 2021
S1mple gives details about his quarantine experience in Cologne.
Na'Vi star player, Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev, who was in prime form through the Group Stage of IEM Cologne 2021, shared his quarantine experience during his latest Twitch stream on 12th July 2021. With three aces already under his belt, s1mple leads the race for tournament MVP with an overall HLTV rating of 1.52 so far. However, despite his incredible performance, the 23-year-old has gone through his fair share of troubles during the tournament, mostly centered around the daily testing procedure which s1mple finds quite unpleasant. The Ukrainian was not complaining about these practices seriously and was definitely not speaking out against them, which are compulsory as ESL is hosting the tournament in a closed studio environment.
S1mple Talks About His Stay in Cologne Through The Quarantine
Na'Vi started their journey in the tournament from the Group Stages. They won all their matches with a '2-1' scoreline against Renegades, Team Vitality, and Astralis, to directly qualify for the semifinals of the first CS:GO LAN tournament. While s1mple might have been near flawless within the server, there was quite a bit of struggle that the player had to go through out of it.
In a recent Twitch stream, s1mple, while conversing in Russian shared his quarantine experience in Cologne,
All the players flying from Russia are getting tested every day. The test is so painful here, this is the first time in my life that I am seeing this. You are being pushed so deeply that it is very unpleasant. In Russia, in general, the last test that I took, I did it myself, smeared this thing in my nose.Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev
S1mple explained how this one German who also spoke Russian, took his test on all the three days of the quarantine and the experience was quite unpleasant for him. He went on to reveal that the last test that he had taken in Russia, he himself took the test on his own.
However, s1mple is glad that it is all over now and that they are now allowed to go out on the balcony and walk around the hotel. However, to do all this they still need a manager around them.
After having qualified for the playoffs, the final six teams have quite a bit of time on their hands. So s1mple whilst taking a break, started streaming some Warzone on Twitch, having fun with the viewers and engaging with them to talk about different things.
With two CIS teams in the Playoffs, the CS:GO community now firmly believes that the CIS region has grown as a serious contender. On top of this, the semifinal match between Na'Vi and Gambit is quite a possibility as well.
