OG undergoes a CS:GO roster shuffle with the signing of degster and the departure of mantuu.
Degster previously played with OG as a stand-in during the recently concluded BLAST Premier: Spring Finals 2022.
OG has planned on organizing a bootcamp at the Red Bull Athlete Performance Center in Austria after the summer player break.

OG has gone ahead and made it official by signing Abdulkhalik "degster" Gasanov to complete its CS:GO roster following the departure of Mateusz "mantuu" Wilczewski. This change comes ahead of the summer player break and gives the international lineup enough time to gel together as a unit.

Degster had previously made it clear that except for Natus Vincere (NAVI) he does not look forward to competing with any other teams from the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) region ever again as he had stated, "I prefer Europe more than CIS".

The 20-year-old Russian marksman was the sixth best player at the BLAST Premier: Spring Finals 2022. He was playing temporarily for OG as a replacement for mantuu, who had fallen sick after competing in the Global Esports Tour Dubai.

OG CS:GO Roster Update: Degster replaces Mantuu on the active lineup

OG might not have made a lot of changes ahead of the 2022 competitive season, swapping its former captain Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen for Nemanja "nexa" Isaković with G2 Esports, but it is surely making up for it after facing a heavy slump in its performance.

Following the departure of Nikolaj "niko" Kristensen and Valdemar "valde" Vangså from its active roster and signing young riflers Adam "NEOFRAG" Zouhar and Maciej "F1KU" Miklas instead, OG has now bolstered its AWPing department by replacing mantuu with degster.

The last remaining member of the original CS:GO lineup that OG had signed in December 2019, mantuu, after more than two and a half years has left the organization and is a free agent that other teams can sign if interested.

One of the hottest prospects in the current market, degster, is the perfect player to replace the Pole. After having shown great potential with Team Spirit to utilizing his stand-in opportunity with OG by putting up a solid performance, the Russian only adds positively to this international set of players.

Statement by degster on joining OG

Mike Schwartz - Head of Esports for OG, had a few words to offer following this roster shuffle, “It would have been easy for Abdul (degster) to shrug off an invitation from us, coming off a major semi-final and being considered one of the best AWP prospects on the market. He could have rested on those laurels and awaited suitors enjoying a nice vacation until after the player break, but he chose to forgo that in order to play. Not because he had to, but because of his passion for competing – he jumped on a plane to fly fifteen hours from Moscow to Lisbon and immediately into scrims. The results obviously spoke for themselves, but it was the behind the scenes actions, showing what kind of person he was that really solidified him as the choice to elevate the team to the next level and compete against the best.”

All set with a new CS:GO roster at its disposal, OG will be returning in August after the player break with a bootcamp scheduled to take place at the Red Bull Athlete Performance Center in Salzburg, Austria. Here the team will begin its preparation for both the fall season of BLAST Premier 2022 and the qualifiers for the IEM Rio Major 2022.

The revamped OG CS:GO roster is as follows,

  • Shahar "flameZ" Shushan

  • Nemanja "nexa" Isaković - IGL

  • Adam "NEOFRAG" Zouhar

  • Maciej "F1KU" Miklas

  • Abdul "degster" Gasanov

  • Casper "ruggah" Due - Coach
